Yes they were.

I am sorry you feel that way and I can only assure you that it isn't true.

I prefer casual...

The issue is that despite wanting to have enough staff, it is finding people willing/wanting to work. The arena, like many other service oriented businesses, struggle to find the staff. Add to it that food handler requirements exist and age restrictions. This results in closed concession stands and long lines. It is sort of the world as it is, so to speak.

...lol...closer to $12 per beer.

Yup.

Has he had an unofficial visit here?

Unfortunately we have been attempting to rebuild our offensive line for years without success. Our defensive front seven wasn't all that bad last year, but it is sort of embarrassing watching them get shoved all over the place this year. I was watching us attempt to rush the pass today and at one point laughed. To a player the simply stood up at contact and didn't do anything more. Sooo sad. On offense, our tackles on three separate occasions completed whiffed on their blocks and Thompson got lit up.

Our two lines (offense and defense) are flat out horrible. You cannot compare them at all to Oklahoma. I don't understand we got this bad.

I used to have a positive gut feeling... I used to love the look of my rose colored glasses... I used to put a positive twist on our incoming recruits... I used to believe each of our players would grow and improve exponentially from the previous year... I used to believe that this season would be the one... But you know, the last two seasons tempered my beliefs, they stomped on my optimism and broke my rose colored glasses. Now, I will be at the opening event, the exhibition, all home games and will travel to a couple of our away games...Perhaps PSU in January for example. Yes I will cheer and hope. If we get one win, then maybe two, our home court may be ours once again. But wait, this team has some proving to do. Again there is talk and some hyperbole; but is time to walk the walk!

Yeah okay, although I have a bit of insight that says at least one of them would answer a few questions. The media did reach out to Moos, Bo, Tim, Barry, Riley, not sure about Danny, not sure about Callahan and of course Doc put himself out there for all questions. Again, no conspiracy theories at all; I just find it a bit odd.

2022 SG Jamarques Lawrence - LOI
Huskerpapa replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Again, he sounds like a good guy and player. We shall see how those words turn into positive action on the court. -
But as a reporter, you still ask, and then you report that the individual refused to comment or that he/she turned down the interview request. To ignore the elephant in the room is very uncommon for journalists.

2023 SG Parker Friedrichsen -> Wake Forest...for now
Huskerpapa replied to royalfan's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
This will be interesting. He noted relationships being important. He also noted bonding with Sam Hoiberg. Now, I am not trying to be negative, but...will Fred survive, and does Notre Dame and Davidson provide more stability for this young man??? -
Whatever is on their minds.

What seems sort of odd to me is that the media members seem to be focused on who the new coach will be; but nobody seemingly has reached out to Scott for an interview. Not a peep. Also, one of the individuals that worked the hardest and perhaps reaped some benefits from the original hire, (Matt D) has been very quiet. I know Matt and Scott are friends, so I find it a bit strange that he hasn't been heard from yet.

I'm not yet prepared to dance on a coaching grave quite yet. Am I optimistic about an uber successful basketball season? No; but I am willing to give it a chance. That said, I am still upset about Scott's failure. I thought he was going to be the answer; I really did. It was the right call to fire him, yet I have mixed emotions. As to Fred, he now knows, if he didn't before, that it is win or else. Money is not the issue. The clear expectation is to win, or your gone. He has made, what appears to be, some good choices as to the coaching changes, the player changes, the style of player, the re-emphasis of discipline and defense. My hope for Fred is the same as it was for Scott. It didn't work out for Scott, but I can still hope it works for Fred.

The Gophers head coach was spot-on in his assessment of our team under Scott. I didn't want to admit it, as the truth hurts. But in short: * We are one of the best appearing teams getting off the bus, but hit us in the mouth the first time, and we fold. Mental and physical toughness is m.i.a. * We win a lot in the off-season and that is just part of our insane hyperbole. Fans/players have to remember that all the other teams are recruiting/lifting/getting better as well. This can, once again, be a great program. We have the fan base, the money, the facilities to make it happen. But it takes blood, sweat, mental fortitude as well. I personally have no clue who the next coach will be. But the coach better be able to flourish while under the microscope . The media and many of the fans will sure provide their expert opinions on how to play the game.

I have mixed emotions, but not typical mixed emotions: * I feel bad for Husker fans including me. I thought this was a great hire. I thought he made a critical error when he brought his UCF staff with him. They simply weren't prepared for football at this level. And then arrogance got in the way of adjusting or adapting. * I feel bad (money not withstanding) for Frost. His legacy went from favored son, to a woefully disappointing coach. Is he the worse HC in our history? * The program is in the toilet. But we do have talent. I think... * The speculation will run rampant; however, I am very concerned whether we can get a difference maker here as a coach. This will make for a wild ride. I will say this, there are a lot of high dollar donors out there with leveraged opinions. Yes indeed.

The dudes hands are huge. At the end of the clip I noted the video guy noted the same...

On the video screen he looked to be about the same size (weight and height) of DW...

Just my humble opinion...the coaches who truly recruited and wanted Chase are gone. The new coaches along with Fred decided to not back out on him; but sorta told him if another opportunity opened up for him, he may want to consider it, and he did. Best of luck to him...I am in the camp that thinks we have a better alternative biting on the hook.
