2020 5-star C Xavier Foster -> Iowa St
Blackshirt83 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Also keep an eye on Tamin Lipsey for 2022. If we get one or both these two the whole state of Iowa may go nuclear. -
I know in football you can have "consultants" who review film and scout opponents. Can you do that in basketball? Can we have Henry basically just be a full time scout and not take a bench spot?

Gates is out recruiting with Abdelmassih, so that assumes he's staying yes?

Here is the recruiting schedule starting may 1st. 3 day quiet period 8 day dead period 3 day recruiting period 4 day dead period 6 day recruiting period 1 day quiet period 3 day evaluation period 4 day recruiting period ending May 2nd. After that there is nothing but quiet, dead and evaluation periods till August. So if he or his parents etc. want to set up an in person interview with any coaches without having to travel to that coaches campus he only has about 17 days between today and May 2nd to work with. And if he does decide to transfer and he needs to take summer classes for any reason, he definately doesn't have a month to wait to start the process.

I actually think it's that they felt they could be lazy and be ok. Meaning that nothing this entire season has been about winning a conference title or anything like that. It's all been on getting that first NCAA win. I think the players thought they did the work in the noncon to make the tournament on the strength of the conference and think they can beat anyone they get in the first round, so now they think they can skate through a bit till then. They need to realize they can't.

Really good to get a needed win but they really need to figure out what whatever issue the team seems to be going through is and fix it. This is a game we win by 20 a month ago. -
Nebraska (11-3) vs. Iowa (11-3) Game Thread

Games like this are why this is a make or break year for Miles. There is zero reason to bring this staff back if they don't win at least one come tournament time because their coaching ability doesn't warrant another rebuilding cycle without significant milestones attached first. -
Cal State Fullerton (3-8) vs. Nebraska (9-2) Game Thread

I understand Burke spends most of practice making things difficult for Palmer and Watson.. but maybe we need to let him spend every practice giving Roby the Lance Stephenson treatment till he turns on the agression? -

I love that our D is so good we can mess around and be up 10 I love that our O os good enough to mess around and put up 35. I do not love that we mess around. -
I think we will need to win the next 3 and then as long as we don't lose at Rutgers 10 conference wins gets us in. Barely. That said If we're 9-1 at home with our 1 road win being against Rutgers I'd still be scared. We'd likely be in but I probably wouldn't sleep well without at least a conference tournament win at that point. 9 conference wins puts us firmly on bubblewatch needing at least one if not two conference tourny wins. -Unless we have some really really eyepopping road wins because that would mean we lost at least once at home and vitually every road game we have left. 11 conference wins = stress free selection sunday.

Nebraska (7-1) vs. Minnesota (6-2) Game thread

They have no answer for Copeland. He is hitting litterally everything he takes outside 5 feet but sure lets not let him even look for a sho in the last 4 minutes. Frankly that is a pathetic coaching job right there. -

This game going to OT is the most Nebrasketball thing of all the Nebrasketball things. -
Just a heads up, apparently they REALLY hate this.

See what he did here? He's responding to a sarcastic response to a sarcastic post with more sarcasm. This is how to do things people.

Speaking of Illinois, I caught a couple of their local radio shows during Illinois football week and apparently they firmly believe there is no excuse for the Illini to finish at least 6th in conference play. Underwood may not last long enough to build anything there.

There's a sarcasm font?

Those that are saying that winning a tournament game shouldn't be the floor simply because this program hasn't done it before miss one simple fact... No other coach in program history (aside from Sadler's final season) has had a tournament field that allowed 68 teams and 4 play-in games available to get in.
