Trivia Question (try guessing before looking)

My biggest takeaway from this is that Strowbridge is massively underappreciated. -
OT: Nevada vs. NDSU Game Thread
Blackshirt83 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'm worried about Nevada trying to turn the game into a war of attrition in the post. With Walker and Andre out we don't win that war. Lat and Yvan staying out of foul trouble is going to be incredibly important this next few weeks. -

No, but they test every day so unless he missed practice and it wasn't reported it was either yesterday or this morning I would assume. There wasn't any indication he'd be out. -

Anyone know where Andre is? Didn't look like he was on the bench. -

Looking so much better than last year. Lat is gonna be good. Teddy scares me a bit though. A lot of what he is trying to do won't work against B10 teams. Expecially if he refuses to kick it back out to open shooters. 3pt defense and bunnies at the rim are still issues a bit as well. -
Trivia Question (try guessing before looking)
Blackshirt83 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I would assume Walt did it in his one good year. Other than that I honestly would be more surprised if anyone did than if they didn't. I know Webster didn't shoot 40% from deep his junior year and he was as good if not better that year from 3 than anyone in that timeframe. So if he didn't hit that mark I doubt anyone else over the past 10 years did. -
I haven't heard anyone whining except the media guys who are trying to drum up clicks. We were playing OSU and PSU anyway. Getting Ohio State week 1 as opposed to week 6 or 7 is an advantage not a disadvantage. The only things we lost were the free win against Rutgers and a chance to go crazy with offensive stats against Diaco's Defense week 1.

Start out saying this isn't a political fight, spend half the rest of the speech taking a political stance. Typical. -
Big Ten Conference-Only Season
Blackshirt83 replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The current league schedule isn't going to be the one they use. They are going to redo the schedule to put the divisional games first so home/away will change. We may not even have the same crossovers. -
That doesn't even make sense. I mean, Harvard, arguably the most prestigious school in the country just went online only.
-
Gonna be even worse if Thor, Lat and Yvan aren't allowed back in the country. We could very easily be down to 6 players for the season.

Burke is done as far as college goes. He signed with an agent. Most likely he's not really looking at actually being an NBA draft candidate, he's looking to garner interest for the international scouts. Meaning he decided it's better to go overseas and make money now than spend a year in a small conference where he isn't likely to improve his value by much anyway. Frankly, he's probably not wrong.
-
IMO he's going to be the Big Man version of Tai Webster.
-
I'm not sure where he is now (probably about the same) but going into the Iowa game Yvan was in the bottom 20 players nationally in efficiency.

Am I the only one who liked Sek?

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 12; ed 15 - vs. Iowa
Blackshirt83 replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The thing about Green is: He has the 3rd worst 3pt% on the team at 30%. Only above Cross and Easley but leads the team in 3pt attempts at 61. (tied now with Cam, Prior to tonight he was alone as the only guy with 60+ 3pt attempts) He's also dead last (not counting Arop who has yet to take a shot) in fg% and yet is one of 5 players with over 100 attempts. (he had the 3rd most attempts on the team going into tonight.) Considering the fact that he's put up those shot numbers despite missing 2 full games and again is often the worst shooter on the floor... that is simply an offense killer. Nothing else he brings to the table right now makes up for what is lost just by having him on the floor taking shots. -
Just remember Pikiell's first two years in the B10 Rutgers went 3-15 in conference play. It took them 4 years to get to this point. I think Hoiberg is a better coach and recruiter, so they are at or a bit below where we expect to be 2-3 years from now. It takes time to build a program from nothing and we're at ground zero.

Pretty sure Allen was gone either way too.

Nebraska (11-1) vs. Michigan St. (7-5) Game Thread
Blackshirt83 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
Whether the timeout came before or after the ball was thrown to the sideline at the end is irrelevant. She only had the ball in the first place because the girl who ultimately called the timeout first passed her the ball while literally laying out of bounds on the baseline. === As to the toughness of the team, they aren't as tough as some of Yori's teams but they were at least trying to fight for a while in this game. But you can only get called for a charge while the defender has 2 feet in the restricted zone so many times before you back off and try to completely avoid contact.
