  1. For the most part, I think we have a capable group of shooters. It’s anecdotal evidence for sure, but in the past 2 games it seems the team shoots the 3 much better off the catch than off the dribble. I’ll have to rewatch to confirm but it has been noticeable to me.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly. Thru the 1st 3 games, this team’s offense definitely feeds off the defensive end. If they continue to be as active as they have been in games 1 & 3 and let that trigger the offense, I like where this is headed. I just hope they recognize it.
  3. Had a chance to digest (the hoops and the food): I’m not going to be too critical - it is way too early. Understandably after coming down off what had to be a real high from game 1, Nebraska looked to have tired legs in game 2 and I think that led to the lack of movement, forced/errant shots and consistently active hands on defense throughout the game. I am disappointed in the result after fighting like crazy to get up 10 in the 2nd half and then let it slip away. I’m hopeful this will be a learning experience and they can get better from it. So far, there are new members who I am thrilled with and a couple that I am lukewarm about. But again, 2 games in and I’m open to those opinions changing. I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving - I know I am truly thankful for Husker Hoops being back!
  4. Way more positives than negatives on this one. I am super happy to be watching Husker hoops again and look forward to watching this team grow. It was a lot of fun today - the length and active hands on defense stood out to me as much as anything.
  5. So angry at myself for missing game 1 - dammit! Nebraska 79 Nevada 71
  6. Not Another Teen Movie A Few Good Men Hoosiers Crimson Tide Super Troopers Beerfest Field of Dreams Bull Durham Major League Mississippi Burning The Godfather I & II (combined) Tombstone The Running Man (one of several terrible movies that I find entertaining for some reason) Really hard to keep this list to only 13 - but a fun exercise nonetheless!
  7. The media in today’s society does not report news...they rush to judge any behavior that will generate clicks, they spout opinions regardless of fact, and has no objective other than to incite an emotional response from the lemmings who take their words to heart. No one bothers to understand that there was nothing that could have been done to stop or contain this virus . It’s sad that it will end in a worst case scenario for what I continue to hope is a limited number of people, but all we can do is be aware and do our best to live a hygienic life. The rest has been out of our hands since the beginning.
  8. Here’s what I expect: a little class and decorum from all involved and considering the history. As I said, I didn’t see or hear the question/context. But if he’s in studio, he absolutely knows what questions are coming. Be a professional.
  9. I respectfully disagree. I don’t know the context, the question or anything else. But in my opinion, the record would not be meaningfully better if he were still here. He would have had different issues, perhaps, but issues nonetheless. There are 350+ other teams he can spend his time commenting about, he should leave this one alone.
  10. True - but there would have been quite a few issues even if Tim was still the coach. He should probably refrain from commenting publicly about it.
  11. This is simply one of the worst D1 basketball teams I’ve ever seen. It is really unbelievable.
  12. I am with many who have already posted - very much done with the Cam Mack era. As Crash Davis said in Bull Durham, "You got a million dollar arm, but a 5 cent head." It's time to say goodbye and good luck to Mr. Mack.
  13. I admit to being vocally frustrated with a couple of players and their lack of improvement, especially the mental part of the game and the decisions they continue to make. Oh..and the free throws. I don't care how bad a team it is, shooting this poorly from the line is inexcusable. Outside of those things, I have remained pretty unemotional about the results this season. Disappointed, yes. But, I had pretty much written off the wins/losses early on. As a side note, being "married" into a family of CU fans has made this season much more difficult to take than it should have been. It's a miracle I have not been institutionalized by this point.
  14. Tonight, yes. I would respectfully disagree that a rare hot streak makes it all ok.
  15. Don't think I'll ever come around on #11 - just don't like his decision making and it hasn't gotten better. In fact, the emergence of the step-back 20-footer has made it worse.
