Further proof that there is no panacea in coaching, be it college or pro. You have to cater to giant immature egos when recruiting or cater to giant immature egos who make more money than you in the pros. I like Beilein and thought he was an exceptional coach at Michigan. Will always hold that opinion of him.
With the talk this week from HCFH about keeping the team together during all the losing, this 2nd half is making me wonder if they aren’t starting to come apart.
Young, not talented enough, etc. Still need to be able to hang with and beat a slightly above average team missing 2 of their best players. Sorry, but very disappointed in tonight’s showing.
Damn I get so tired of watching our guys get swatted at the rim. Every bit as bad as a turnover in my opinion. Pull up, kick it out, just do something else where you can at least get a shot up.
Big fan of the Kobe tribute up front. Man, I totally spaced on Phil Martelli being on Michigan’s staff. I think it’s a very smart move by Howard to have someone with that kind of experience by his side.
There is such a difference between the logical understanding of how bad this season might be and the emotional reality while in the midst of it. So hard to balance the two. Just an awful 2nd half performance.
I’ve seen many on this board talk about how Cross is going to be really good in the future. He may very well be - but in the games I’ve watched, he hasn’t shown much other than being a ball stopper.
