  1. Great thread Norm - I'm usually not a big sauce guy, but I've been in need of finding a good one. I will definitely pick some up!
  2. I liked the article. I thought it was well-researched and tried to present both sides. There is plenty of blame to go around on all sides - administration (past and present), fans, coaches AND players. To try to pin this on one person or group to the exclusion of all else doesn't make much sense to me. I certainly don't know the inner workings of the athletic department, but from the outside, it does appear there has been a lack of support. But that doesn't let Coach Miles off the hook for the multiple years of recruiting, player development and X/O failures. It also doesn't explain how a senior-laden team can completely fall apart with no leadership and no improvement. Doesn't anyone on this team have any pride whatsoever? The culture is broken and has been for longer than many of us would like to admit - it appears to me that last year's record served as a bandaid that covered up many of the problems already in place. We all believed the players on this team were better than this. I've said it before and I don't see how it can be argued - the players on this team are not as good as we thought. It's way past time to move on from this staff and start to build from the ground up.
  3. I respect Coach Pettit's opinion as stated here and he does make some valid points. Not to turn this into a football discussion, but I had the exact same feeling when Pelini was starting to feel his seat get warm. I look at it from the standpoint of investing in the stock market. On one hand, we bought the stock 7 years ago and while we all wanted it to perform, it just has not panned out for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons was undoubtedly a learning curve for Miles to recruit, coach and run a program at this level. I am not short-changing the learning curve discussion - I do believe the argument has merit. The key question we need to answer is, have the fundamentals of the business (Miles) improved in such a way to make us believe that the investment made 7 years ago will yield market beating returns in the future? On the other hand, if our investment thesis is no longer valid, we sell the stock, take our loss (and there will be a loss, even if we don't recognize it as such) and redeploy the capital into an investment that we believe will perform. I am on the side of selling at this point, but I do believe Pettit makes a reasonable counter-argument.
  4. Absolutely comical that 4 of the starting 5 are still on the floor.
  5. I've been saying and thinking the same thing all year - I used to be a CBB junkie. Would stay up late at night on the road and watch whoever was on the west coast game just because I loved watching the game. The game has gotten too physical. A foul could be called on every play but the refs are way too inconsistent and seem to pick & choose when they blow the whistle. We saw it last night and while it went Nebraska's way (for once), it takes a lot of the joy out of the game.
  6. They proved it against MN, let's hope it continues: NU 64 NW 59
  7. Has there ever been a discussion on the size of Roby's hands? He loses control of the ball a lot!
  8. This, this, a thousand times THIS!
  9. It did not come from a fortune cookie but after reading it again, it does have that feel to it. ?
  10. I'm a purist - traditional wood color, red N in the center. Simple, clean. No stupid designs, no color filling in the 3-point area. Just worry about what's actually playing ON the floor. #GetOffMyLawn
  11. Interesting and from the outside, a good analogy. That name is quite intriguing to me.
  12. Thanks for the stats/research. Damn, that is really depressing - I really thought Nee had more success than that.
  13. "Best" only exists to the individual and cannot be universally defined by the collective. Debating who has the "best" fans is a game that cannot be won.
  14. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen an entire basketball team so in love with dribbling the air out of the ball. It is mind-numbing.
  15. I can't really blame him - no one else has figured out the offense either.
  16. I'd say about 5 straight gawd awful offensive possessions in a row right there.
  17. Tough choice for Husker fans tonight: Mike Riley and his San Antonio Commanders or Tim Miles' Husker Hoops? j/k
  18. It's possible I've reached that point where I can no longer invest my time or energy this season. I said it a few games ago and I'll say it again: this team is exhausting. I'm not sure I have much left in the tank.
  19. If I didn't know better, I would think this team was trying to miss that many shots. It's the only explanation that makes any sense at all...
