  1. Having bet many of Pitt games this past year I will say McGowens has a lot of potential. Pitt’s offense in general was just out of funk most games it seemed. I would be very happy with landing Trey.
  2. Not sure how much stock you can put in to Kobe’s stats. He was obviously unhappy...to the point that his teammates said they would find him crying at halftime. That’s certainly going to effect your play. No offense to Burke who I think could be a very solid player under a different system but he doesn’t have the natural talent that King does IMO.
  3. Just guessing off the limited tape I’ve seen of him, I expect him to be an upgrade from Mack in terms of scoring and shooting. But, he won’t be as good of a distributor. I think Mack was pretty special in that regard so no surprise there.
  4. Stevenson is also more than capable of playing the guard position.
  5. I think that answers our “who is going to start at PG” question.
  6. His original posting did not have that part in the body but he did say on his Instagram message that he would keep his eligibility. He reposted adding that message In the body of the post which is smart because that’s what everyone was reading and didn’t see his message at the bottom.
  7. It may all hinge on how transfers will be handled. I don’t see him wanting to sit out a year. While the suspensions were warranted they were all pretty small in nature outside of missing curfew. Will he mature in the offseason? Not sure. If he’s serious about making a run at the NBA he will have to. I would love to see him on the court with a few guys that can put the ball in the hoop.
  8. If this were true, wouldn’t he hire an agent? Or are you thinking he will transfer?
  9. Hypothetically couldn’t it be Whitt?
  10. He’s not hiring an agent. So unless he plans on hiring an agent down the road or transferring and sitting out, he will be back. Assuming Hoiberg wants him back that is.
  11. The media blasting Fred and making assumptions is quite hilarious. Mass hysteria. Feed it.
  12. It’s me guys. I can run a 4.3 forty and bench press 450 pounds. And at one point in my basketball career, Marlon Lucky referred to me as JJ Reddick at the rec center.
  13. Easley is a different story because I’m sure he knows his scholarship will likely be utilized elsewhere after the spring. Id be all for him staying but I think he has also proven he could land at a mid major school and get a free ride. Arop, I just don’t see it unless he develops his shot. I don’t see much PT for him in the future which probably means he opts to transfer.
  14. Good luck to Dachon, he was put in a tough position. I think he tried to conform with Hoiberg’s style of play but I don’t think it really fits his game. He should be an attractive grad transfer I would believe.
  15. In the months of December and January he shot 35% front he field. In February he was at 54% and March 41%. In March he’s averaging nearly 5 more boards per game than January. None of his numbers scream all American obviously but him in March compared to a few months ago, he’s better. Hoiberg has said many times that his guys make big leaps from year 1 to 2. Considering his age and body type I think we can expect him to be much improved next year.
  16. Iowa St hovered around 35-37% from deep under Hoiberg. Solid, but not great. But, they were elite from inside the arc under him when he got his players in. We know Fred dislikes the mid range game which to me says they were great around the rim. I can see next years team hover around that 3PT percentage above...but we need to get far better around the rim. And I think we will we with the big bodies we have coming in. Stevenson, Allen, and Kobe are all big bodied guards who can get to the rack. Iowa St 2PT% under Hoiberg and national ranking 2011-47.8 #174 2012-50.3 #75 2013-51.9 #29 2014-54.4 #9 2015-54.3 #11 Notice the trajectory. This years team is shooting 46.7% inside the arc. Don’t be surprised if we are around that 50% number next year.
  17. I don’t have a feel for Walker but I think Banton and Stevenson are going to be very solid for us. And Banton may end up being special IMO. Tack on two more high major players in Teddy and Kobe and we have quite a bit of help coming in. But, they need to stay on the court and out of trouble. I don’t know if that means NIT or dancing or what....but at the very least we won’t be getting beat before we walk off the bus next year.
  18. Land him and Whitt and I’ll be a happy camper.
  19. Glad to see that from Yvan. A year in S&C program for him is going to be huge. If he can develop some offensive moves over the offseason he will be a load down low.
  20. Hey, atleast it has finally hit home that he can’t be late for team meetings.
  21. Has Mack played his last game as a Husker? Unfortunate because I would like to see what he could do with some scoring options next year.
  22. I get getting smoked by Ohio St but in year 3 we should be contending for a West title. TBD. Basketball? I actually feel pretty good about the pieces we have for next year.
  23. 7 for 26 from the line. That has to be the most Nebrasketball thing ever.
  24. The staff just keeps recruiting. Not only is King a very good player his Big Ten experience will be huge for us. Great get
  25. Going to be a long long long season I’m afraid. I think the starting rotation will end up being solid but the talent out of the pen? Woof.
