Big Ten Basketball Recruiting
huskerbaseball13 replied to Husker4Life's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Man, I think it might be a big stretch to say we got 3 nba cats. I see maybe one. Recruitin high level kids ia gonna continue ta suffer til Miles sends cats to the nba. All top kids think they good enough to play in da league and want a coach that gets kids there. Miles ia good x and o coach and good bench coach. SO FAR, he hasnt proven to be a better recruiter than the last two coaches here. that may change, but results so far be the same. Then how exactly did he take this program to a NCAA berth in year 2? How many Petteways did Doc and Collier sign? -
Big Ten Basketball Recruiting
huskerbaseball13 replied to Husker4Life's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
It would be great if we could recruit like Ohio St and Mich does. But we can't, and we probably never will be able to. I don't like the though of carrying over 2 scholorships over to this year(1 if we get White)....and if we do carry over 2 I'd consider that a pretty big fail. At the same time, I don't want to fill our class just to fill the class like some of our past coaches did. I will be worried if come November we don't have any commits. With that said, Miles track record suggest that he knows how to not only spot talent but also develop talent. I don't get all that worked up in regards to recruiting rankings. IMO it's a crap shoot with pretty much any kid outside the top 50. We need a coach that can identify talent who can play in the Big 10 and a coach that gets the most out of his kids. I think we have that in Miles. -
Andrew White III - Kansas Transfer

Agreed. I hope like hell I'm wrong but if he was going to be a Husker he would already be in Lincoln. -
2015 SF Edward Morrow - Signed
huskerbaseball13 replied to trickey's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Was reading some different Big Ten boards and a MOD on the Hawkeye board spoke with Morrow at the peach jam. It sounds like Morrow will be visiting Iowa City in August. I'm not sure if Morrow will be deciding any time soon. -
2015 PF Cody Schwartz
huskerbaseball13 replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I don't believe we are recruiting him very hard if at all. It doesn't seem our coaching staff was very active with him. -
PF Eric McKnight - Graduate Transfer (FGCU)

This would be a no brainer and an upgrade over Leslee IMO. -
2018 SG Aguek Arop -> San Diego St
huskerbaseball13 replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Dis post a reech rite heeya. Seriously the kid was a freshman last season. Outside of the top 50 players in the country most kids don't get offers this early. Lay off the pipe and learn some English because you make Central grads look ignorant.Agau and Gesell both had lots of offers by dis point and neither of em be top 50 players. Insult me if'n u want, but I don't think Miles need to be the first to offer nobody. We should be better den dat.Totally not true for either player.Gesell had offers from Nebraska, Creighton, no. Iowa And Iowa before playing a game in HS.Akoy had several offers before starting his soph yr. Arop's first and only offer is Nebraska. UNO aint even offered. You were correct on Gesell I remembered it was his freshman year but his first, and only offer, came as an 8th grader and the rest came as a freshman. Agau didn't have any high major offers and again not until the start of his sophomore year. If you want to throw straw man arguments at the top 50 comment, Gesell was #87 and Agau was #89 so its not like they were garbage players. We will see in 3 years how stupid you or I look. My guess is you'll look as stupid as your grammar. Straw man arguments? You da cat changing the convo from offers for Akoy to high major offers. Akoy absolutely had offers by this pt, so you wrong bout him too. Even if they been mid or low major offers, he had em. Arop on da otha hand aint got no offers before Miles made one. And yet if Crayton offered you would be on here wondering why Miles let Mcdermott offer first. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being the first school to offer. For shizzle? -

Would love to be wrong but if he is going to be a Husker I have a feeling he would have already pulled the trigger. -
Andrew White III - Kansas Transfer
huskerbaseball13 replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I hope that is the case. My main concern was him wanting to be closer to home. Of course if he picks Notre Dame he will have more East Coast games but if it's between us and the Irish i like that way better than us vs Maryland or Va Tech. -
2015 PG Glynn Watson - Signed
huskerbaseball13 replied to hhcmatt's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
My guess is Maryland thought they were going to land Dorsey and now they are going to Plan B. -
PG Kevin Dorsey from Virginia ...a 2015 Rivals Top 150

Those hoping for signs of Tim Miles demise? Lmao! -

Need to start closing on some of these guys. Not worried yet but the next few months we need to land some of our top prospects. I have no doubt Miles is a great X's and O's coach but in the Big Ten you need talent to win. -

Leslee Smith out for 2014-15 with an ACL tear
huskerbaseball13 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Tore his ACL. Have to wonder if this will end his career at NU. -
That's great news. Last year he was a bit pudgy. This should help him with the grind of college bball as I do think he wore down a bit at the end of last year. The biggest thing for him is just improving his shot. Hopefully the hardword pays off...we all know he has the ability to make things happen off the dribble but its much tougher to do so if the opposing team knows they can sag off of you daring you to shoot the ball.
-
That's beastly. Can't wait to see him on the court again.

Andrew White III - Kansas Transfer
huskerbaseball13 replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Giggity....plllllleaaaaaseeee lock him up. This guy can ball and would be a perfect replacement for Petteway if Petteway goes pro after this year. -
Such a high ceiling why? Because he's tall? He has a "high ceiling" because he picked Krayton. Duh. Mind you his zero offers and lack of interest from just about anybody on the D 1 level. But his ceiling is just so darn "high." Lmao! Nebraska grabs this kid and Krayton fans talk about how marginal of a pickup he is. Krayton lands him on their lonesome and he just so happens to have an oh so "high" ceiling. Gotta love it. Granted I've only seem the kid play once but his game is ugggllllyyyyy. Maybe he will improve greatly but it's a big reach this early in the process.
-
Hilarious! NU takes this nobody and the Kratos fans point out nobody wanting him. Kratos takes him and he's the next Kevin Durant. Lmao! Hilarious.

You'll probably need more than crossed fingers: Kelly: "They're the team I grew up watching and following, so this is pretty cool". Bummer: "It is such a thrill to know I have a chance to play pro baseball. And anything can happen, but I'm leaning toward signing with the White Sox right now." But I agree the draft was pretty kind to us. We likely only lose Reetz among incoming baseball recruits (plus Harrison, a football recruit). Only Kelly and Bummer among current players, worst case scenario. Glad to have Sinclair, Kubat, Roeder, Darby back among those who received draft speculation. Looks like Bummer signed yesterday. That's unfortunate, but IMO he underperformed this year for us. He is replaceable, we just need some of the young arms to step up. I think Kelly is probably a goner also but hopefully playing with your cousin again and the chance to have a great team year will pursuade him to come back.
-
Overall I'd say the draft was pretty kind to us. I expect Reetz to sign which will be too bad. Kelly will be interesting, I don't think he will be offered much but he was drafted by his hometown team. I have no inside information but I have a sneaky feeling that Bummer will probably sign even though he went low. Crossing my fingers we get both Kelly and Bummer back.

Unfortunate we couldn't find a way to win the regional....looks like we probably would have hosted a Super if we did. Very weird year, going to be some different names in Omaha.

The Huskers land a major transfer
huskerbaseball13 replied to Huskerpapa's topic in Other Huskers Sports
I remember watching his film out of high school and I was able to watch a few Washington games last year. The guys is a stud that's for sure. The coaching staff must have a pretty good relationship with him because he could have chosen just about any pass happy offense out there. He will be a good one. -
My thoughts are that the signing has more to do with Reetz than it does Lubach. Saw this posted on the Rivals board...we should have a pretty tough schedule next year. May be tougher to get to 40 wins but it should be easier to get an At Large if we fail to win the Big 10. Also sets us up with a chance to host if we play good ball in the regular season. Non-Conference: Loyola Marymount (3) Cal State Fullerton (2) Indiana State (2) LSU (1) Texas A&M (1) Mississippi State (1) Big Ten: vs Michigan (3) vs Minnesota (3) vs Ohio State (3) vs Purdue (3) at Maryland (3) at Iowa (3) at Northwestern (3) at Illinois (3)
