  1. Forgot the Skers were on TV today...up 4-0 bottom six. This is the Kubat I like to see.
  2. For my sporting experiences I'd rank it right up there with seeing the Huskers in the CWS and getting to see the Huskers in the Rose Bowl even though we did not make it a game. It was an awesome atmosphere.
  3. If Deleon comes back, who knows. That's a pretty important piece of the puzzle; hoping for the best. And assuming we make a regional, where we get placed. Getting sent to Virginia would be tough...getting sent to somewhere like Ole Miss or Houston wouldnt be a bad thing.
  4. It's always a little fishy when someone signs up and posts something like this. I will admit if we don't land Cornish I will be a bit dissapointed. But if we do, I think we pulled in a pretty solid class. And I think 2015 will turn out to be a very nice class for us.
  5. Try actually talking about Nebraska basketball. If you've put more effort digging into whomever is coaching the football team than the actual purpose of the forum, you might want to question if you're in the right place. You need to reread my posts, there arent many. your approval I seek not. The majority of your post deal with bagging on the football coach or Kenny Bell....or when Crayton is mentioned. You rarely if ever bring anything to the table in regards to the Husker basketball program. Probably because you are a Crayton fan. As for the OP, land Cornish and I will be satisfied. I think 2015 is going to very kind to us on and off the court.
  6. It's good stuff, browsing the old board I've cringed a few times at the dumb things I typed
  7. I remember thinking just "meh" when we signed him. Now he's arguably the top player in the Big Ten? Amazing.
  8. It's the offseason and slow so I decided to play around on the old board looking at some past topics and I decided to browse the time when Terran picked NU. This isn't to call anyone out or anything as I didn't post in this thread but I was skeptical of the pickup also and I've been wrong on players in the past. Miles=Magician, I was rough on Tai this past year for his performance but if anyone can get him to break out it will be Miles. http://huskerhoopscentral.activeboard.com/t49088014/possible-transfer/
  9. I like the sound of that...but I'm not getting my hopes up until it's official. I like our chances though. Time to put the full court press on.
  10. Wednesday is typically the day where regional projections take place. I wonder if we are closer to being a two seed than being on the outside looking in? I'd be happy just making it in this year...but a #2 seed would be very nice increasing our odds of hosting a Super Regional if we were somehow to make it out of the regional.
  11. That might just be the worst post in the history of this board. Callahan had disdain for Nebraska and Nebraskans, and you praise him. He refused to even wear anything with Husker colors his last 2 months. He made more than Doc, and at the end just wanted to show off his offense no matter how bad we got beat. His own ego ruled as he swirled down the drain. Doc was completely opposite--competed like crazy and kept trying to the bitter end. I agreed with Dr. Tom's decision to make a change at that point, but it wasn't about lack of effort. You must not have been at any of the practices I went to. Doc never quit, and it's a pathetic cheap shot to suggest he did. BC and his disdain, really? Bo looked a lot better with BC recruits than he does with his own. Bo tells the whole state to eff off, gets countless penalties called on himself, embarrasses NU with his actions and folks continue to support him. BC called TO a crusty old f$&k and it's not far from truth but since he was later fired by TO its easy to pile on. BC designed players and coaches facilities second to none and if he was not loyal to a fault to his DC he may still be the NU coach. Effort was not his problem, he was just not a good HC, not his fault he was all NU could find to take the job. Red is spot on about Doc, he quit, period. Don't care if he cried at the end, don't care if he had a bad stretch of luck with recruits or injuries. He coached and developed players like someone who never played the game at a high level, oh wait.... Never mind. Was this attended to be a shot at Miles Krayton fan?
  12. I think most Husker fans would agree with this. You're so magnanimous. I hope Doc does well at Southern Miss. He's not a bad guy....but I am glad he no longer oversees the Husker program.
  13. I think most Husker fans would agree with this.
  14. IMO I'd much have another one and doner as opposed to keeping the scholorship open and giving it to a walk on.
  15. I'm not going to mention the S word this morning as every time I do I jinx us.
  16. We only have ten regular season games left. Three series and the Creighton game. Yeah, at the time I don't think Boyd had our win vs UNO up to date.
  17. Basis for this? A hunch? Or something more? We haven't had much luck recruiting against lsu in any sport. I'd feel much better about our chances if lsu didn't come into play. Hope he picks the big red.
  18. Not sure how Doc is relevant in this conversation at all. Really? Ok.Uh, try it this way. OurDecay seems to express some surprise/frustration that "We really seem to still have a problem closing out recruits." HB then points out that people are kidding themselves if they don't think this is a tough place to recruit. Now, if you had said "this is a tough place to recruit" at any point in time during Doc's last 3 years here, there would have been people practically shouting at you to stop making excuses for Doc. I think a lot of them honestly believed that all we needed to do to solve our recruiting woes was replace Doc. And my admittedly snarky point was that those who thought it was just Doc being lazy on the recruiting trail are going to be in for a little bit of a surprise when they see that, by gosh, this is still a tough place to recruit to. So ... I don't think it ever had anything to do with being lazy. Was he bad at identifying talent? I'd say yes. Who knows maybe recruiting to Lincoln is a tough as some think...and that's why it takes the right coach. Miles appears to fit the mold. Doc? Not so much.
  19. 9 out of the next 11 appears will get us a top 32 rpi. 6 out of the next 11 should land us in the top 45. Stay in the top 45 and we should remain in the discussion.
  20. Not sure how Doc is relevant in this conversation at all. We will always have trouble closing out recruits, much like everyone else in the country. The problem we want to have is trouble closing out BETTER recruits. He's not. Unless someone notes Shang Ping rhymes with Deng Deng. Can anyone explain the rationale as to why some think it's so hard to recruit to Nebraska?
  21. I caught some of his presser over lunch. While didn't use the word "baseline", but he did promise an exciting uptempo style - "they're fixin' to run". One interesting thing he said, is that he learned from Coach Hoiberg that there is no such thing as a bad shot. That if they miss, just tell them that they'll make the next one. So it sounds like he may give his guys more freedom to take quick shots than he did here. My guess is he's just feeding the masses what they want to hear. Good luck to Doc...I'm sure he will be a much better fit at So Miss than he was here.
  22. I believe those numbers for Deng were his freshman year correct? I have to imagine he put up more than 10 points a game with some of the numbers that were coming out on twitter. He had a three game stretch where he averaged like 40 points a game.
  23. IF....if we can land both Cornish and Deng to round out the class. Me likey. Me likey alot. I think it will be harder to land Cornish with the schools we are going up against but get him on campus and lets see what happens.
  24. Red Carpet time. Would love for Deng to be a Husker. He has major potential.
