  1. I think you are forgetting Jacobsen which would leave us with 1 schollie assuming Petteway goes pro and Leslee gets another year.
  2. SOS and RPI should be quite good again this year...where as if we get to 19-20 wins again we should be "in." With that said, I think the team and the fans want more than that. Tough schedule but this team has a chance to make some serious noise if everyone stays healthy.
  3. For Iowa's sake...I hope he is better than Todd Lickliters son.
  4. Honestly, she is going to have a tough time if she keeps posting on that website. There will be a point in time where Leon is struggling and he will be called out by the message board. The way she talks it would not surprise me one bit if he finds himself transferring back home after a year or two.
  5. Team USA is only 43 point favorites over New Zealand tomorrow.
  6. Amazing! Best choice the young man could have made. And Miles and the staff are in full beast mode.
  7. Rumor is he may not make grades. But, worst case they will still have an in on him if they have to place him somewhere.
  8. It's days like this I wish he could still post here. His head would explode if Watson picks the Big Red.
  9. I agree that this is an exceptional hire. I have a feeling Kirby may have a head coaching gig in his not so distant future. I will not take a negative swing at Bolt. He was a good one and has a bright future. I never said he was not a good one or didn't have a bright future. I have some ties to the baseball program and they stated his style didn't mesh well with the rest of the team. That doesn't mean he won't fit in great with Childress at A&M.
  10. Not sure he commits this weekend, but I will be surprised if he isn't a Husker in the end.
  11. I choose TP. I've heard thru the grapevine that Miles would be shocked if TP doesn't enter the draft this year. Not because TP wants our after this year....but because he has lived in the gym all summer and has become a physical monster. If TP becomes automatic with his jumper and doesn't let his emotions get the best of him it's scary to think how good he can be for us.
  12. That's a top notch hire. Hopefully we can keep him around for a few years. Take it for what it's worth but I have heard some were not so sad to see Bolt go. It sounds like his approach did not mesh well with the rest of the program.
  13. It's amazing to me that some 40 some year old is tweeting at a 17 year old basketball prospect hoping to suck up/influence his decision. That's as sad as it gets.
  14. Game Week. Can't believe it's here already. Looking forward to seeing how much Armstrong has improved. Also curious to see if our D-line really is as good as everyone thinks it will be. D-line can't afford anymore injuries.
  15. I think the plan has always been to move Webster to the 2 guard when we have enough depth at PG. This can happen if we land Watson. I doubt Watson would be worried about a senior in Benny Parker...that would leave him battling for minutes with Smith thru his career. And IMO, anywhere he goes he will always have someone else on the roster who he will be competing for minutes with. PT is not an issue if he is the player people think he is.
  16. Watson would be perfect for our motion offense. I hope Miles and company can close on him this weekend. He may still want to take other visits but I have to believe we are in good position with being in the Big Ten and the momentum we have right now. This class could really come together if we can land a guy like Watson. Not only that...we land Morrow and Watson that will be huge for us recruiting Chicago in the future.
  17. Lets hope we land him first...obviously we have a great shot. Hopefully he has a good visit. I'm sure the coaches will do their best to real him in. He would be a very good PG in our system.
  18. I think PG play is the biggest thing. If Tai can be a legitimate threat we will be a very tough team to defend.
  19. Curry wasn't going to start but still a big loss. It's too bad we failed to recruit depth at the dline all these years. Bo will pay for it now.Actually we recruited way more depth in the Dline starting 3 years ago, so I don't what "all those years" has to do with it. We are better prepared to deal with transfers/injuries than now than in previous years, precisely due to improved recruiting. Highly touted oline recruit DJ Foster was practicing at DT today. Again, where is the depth? Answer...it's not there and we have struggled to recruit quality depth on the dline since Bo was hired. It raises red flags when you have to move olineman to defense to shore up the lack of depth.
  20. I hope he worked on his inside game quite a bit...if that develops Pitch could be crazy good with his athleticism and his ability to shoot the ball.
  21. He's over 20 pounds lighter than the average starting Big Ten D-tackle. To me that is very undersized...especially considering the job he will be asked to do in Bo's scheme. He's not being asked to start. Play a lot? Probably. Start? No. Compare him in size with the STARTERS at Michigan State and he compares. Not "very undersized." Reading up on MSU defense and actually watching their defense they ask their d tackles to do different things. I'm not some football genius but from what I understand MSU asks their d tackles to penetrate and be disruptive. Under Bo's 2 gap scheme this isn't the case. He wants his D Tackles maintaining and eating up blockers so the linebackers can fill the hole. If we are going to have to rely on an undersized true freshman D Tackle I fail to see where this great depth is at the position? D Tackle may be the toughest position for any true freshman to make an impact. I guess we will have to agree to disagree...and just pray Collins and Valentine remain healthy.
  22. Average weight for a Big 10 Starting DT is #293. This is going off of Rivals Depth Charts which may not be 100 percent correct on projecting the starters for this year. Link this for me, please. Edit: nevermind, I figured it out. https://indiana.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp?Year=2013&Team=IOWA Use the drop down for the different teams. Like I said, not sure how many are 100% updated. But I wasn't going to go to each team's actual website.
