  1. Ohio States projected starting D Tackles are listed at 295 and 288. 20-25 pounds is quite a big difference. If you want to talk about Defensive Ends...sure, 270 is a great weight for that position. 270 for D Tackle in a scheme that requires the D Tackle to eat up blockers? Not so much. And that's nothing against Newell, he will eventually bulk up and get stronger....but I'm not buying we have good d-line depth.
  2. Below is the weights for the starting Centers in the Big 10 that Nebraska will be facing... #315 #292 #300 #295 #298 #311 #306 #300 He will be giving up 30 pounds or more to most of the opposing players he will line up against...even worse, those players have had years in their programs strength and conditioning program. I think Newell will be a player for us...but DT is one of the hardest positions as a true freshman to make an impact in. As I said...we better hope Valentine and Collins stay healthy.
  3. What signs point to us being the team to beat to get Morrow? Pretty much every sign that there is I'd agree. He has been told hes the number one target of the class. He was raised in Lincoln. He has family there. His parents went there. Miles is getting talent to surround him. They had at least one coach at every major AAU game he played. He hasnt scheduled any other visits except Iowa and NU with NU being the last one so far. The staff has put in major time and effort to land him. I will be shocked if he doesn't pick the Big Red and in all honesty I think we are the best place for him. Morrow and Watson...commmmmmeee on down
  4. Curry wasn't going to start but still a big loss. It's too bad we failed to recruit depth at the dline all these years. Bo will pay for it now. Actually we recruited way more depth in the Dline starting 3 years ago, so I don't what "all those years" has to do with it. We are better prepared to deal with transfers/injuries than now than in previous years, precisely due to improved recruiting. As it stands...we have very little depth at the D Tackle position. We currently have 5 scholorship players at that position IF you count Newell as a DT which he may have to be now. And one of those scholorship players has had chronic knee problems during his career and just re-injured a knee. So that leaves us with 4 healthy tackles with one being a true freshman who right now is very undersized for the position at 270 pounds. Needless to say...if Collins or Valentine go down we are in deep chit.

  6. Yeahhhh budddddy! Big time get. Way to go coaching staff!
  7. Huge day for the Skers and this staff if they were able to pull off Arop this early and White.
  8. Now im going to be forced to hit F5 all day at work.
  9. And, where is he heading?
  10. I agree with Eichorst we are stable. I don't ever forsee us tanking with Pelini at the helm...with that said, can we do better? Should we be satisfied with 9-10 wins every year and no championships? Maybe. But I would hope we would strive for more considering our prestige and history. Going on 14 years now without a conference title.....this is Bo's seventh year. Something has to give...soon.
  11. We may not end up 22 in the end....but this can and should be used by the coaches on the recruiting trail this fall. The loss of Leslee hurts but nothing we can't overcome. We just need to play with the same type of energy as we did the last half of the year.
  12. Averaged 14 PPG and 7.5 RPG last year. 66% from the field and 59% from the line. Not bad numbers by any means...and those numbers will probably get better next year.
  13. A winnable game for us and a chance to get a solid non-con road win under our belt. FSU is always long and athletic but beatable...and, I've never been blown away by their home court advantage.
  14. So the question should be...how many years should Bo get to win something of note? Or now...make the playoffs? Is 7 not enough? Seven years should be enough time to recruit to your system and overcome the previous staff....right? Although, I'm not so sure we are as talented now as to what Cally and his staff left Bo. I guess we will see how this year goes, but right now I don't see why I should expect anything different than 9-10 wins and 4 losses.
  15. Injuries suck, but that's what recruiting is for. Recruit quality depth and in year 7 that should be expected under Bo. I guess we will see how the season goes but im expecting another ho hum 4 loss season.
  16. If we are being honest...,it would be a shock if he picked us at this point. He held out this long, now all of a sudden he's visiting Maryland late in the game. I always thought he was leaning towards staying closer to home. Looks like that will come to fruition.
  17. That's Miami weekend. Should be a pretty crazy weekend in Lincoln for him.
  18. I guess if he's a senior he has no choice but to go pro after this year!
  19. Welcome! If you like Husker basketball this is the best site by far.
  20. You make great points. I think the concern is dat signing dis cat prolly means no Morrow. It be rare,to get 2 PFs in the same class plus a kid like Morrow wit tons of high level offers aint likely to go where they got another pf in the same class. Two totally different players. We may indeed may not getc Morrow but it won't be because of the Jacobsen commitment.
  21. Same with Patton and that didn't stop you from having a man crush on him. Of course, if Miles would have offered Patton yuz wusa Benz kryin.
  22. I like it. Top 200 ranked players and top player in Iowa. The minimal video I've watched he can play stretch the floor as a big.
  23. True....unless he wants to be closer to home. I have no doubt we are his best option basketball wise. But, I'm worried him being close to his family will seal the deal for most likely...Richmond.
