  1. Silverback I think you are right. With how the MLB draft operates now in terms of offering money I don't think Pat gets drafted high enough to leave. Incoming recruit Harrison is probably a lock to sign. And we will probably be fortunate to keep Reetz.
  2. We will have quite a few that are eligible but the main guys would be Bummer, Sinclair, Darby, and Kelly. I don't see anyone else that will be drafter. Possibly Roeder but doubtful. Out of that group the main concerns would be Bummer and Sinclair. The rest will be drafted in the very late rounds or not at all IMO. If any go it would be Kelly and Sinclair IMO. I actually thinks Bummer projects the highest at the next level. He obviously wasn't near as good as Sinclair was this year but he's a taller lefty that had pretty good success out of the Cape League last summer. Sinclair is very effective but he doesn't throw very hard. I think Kelly gets drafted but not high enough to leave. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

  4. Tough way to end the year...defensively we were sloppy this weekend. But it's a good year to build off of....as long as the draft doesn't kill us we should have a solid team coming back. Need to develop some starters next year and shore up the left side of the infield.
  5. Outside of doing anything illegal...we need to do everything possible to land White. Miles could turn him into a monster!
  6. I don't remember what year it was but it was DVH second or third year, when they came through the losers bracket and DVH was pulling guys out the pen that hadn't pitched much to make it to the championship round. That is what today reminded me of lights out from the pen today. I was telling a coworker whose was working with me about the next pitcher that was coming in and how they would get lit up guess I was wrong. It was probably Bublitz. I don't think the coaches were tossing in the towel at that point but I think they were being smart and thinking about conserving some pitching if we had to come out of the losers bracket. Looks like rain all day today.....will be interesting to see what the Big 10 does if they can't get any games in. I'd assume the B1G Network will continue to televise football games You assumed right. Looks like the weather cleared up..game on, although from my view in the office you would think a game isn't being played as there is barely anyone there. I believe this will be the last non-televised game by the Big Ten.

  8. The outcome was about as good as it gets. With a short outing by Sinclair he may be eligible to be used in short relief if need be.
  9. What a comeback! Bullpen did an amazing job to put gooseggs after Sinclair had a rough inning. It sounded like the crowd was rocking in the 9th.
  10. I care because Miles wanted him. Did you post the same thing about Moses? That may be but I've was told Kreklow did not like his chances at getting solid minutes at NU so there was never much interest from either side. Shields and Petteway are going to play as much as possible...I'm sure Kreklow realized this. Omaha paper had a front page article bout kreklow bein recruited by nebraska dat dint even mention creghton. I think we all kinda know that when a rcruitin story gets wriiten somone from da program had to leak info bout the recruit. If Miles wasnt interested, the paper wpuldnt a wriiten no story. Miles may have inquired, but from what I have heard Kreklow did not like his chances at getting PT here.
  11. Nothing says reach quite like being prepared to offer a guy you've never seen play. Sorry, unfiltered thoughts. Had to say it. But I trust Miles won't make an offer if he doesn't think the kid has ability. And he always has said athleticism first. This kid clearly has loads of athleticism. He has some skills you can't teach thats for sure. He was getting some nice press the last year and a half. Talk about having nerves...can't imagine having to put on a work out in front of a high major staff knowing how you perform could possibly make or break your college career.
  12. Looks like a freak athlete for sure. Someone who could be a good matchup for us on the defensive end. My guess is if he gets an offer he will be N.

  14. My guess is Hohensee would be the fourth starter. I think Hirsch has been too valuable out of the pen this year. Getting excited for the tournament...I won't be able to attend tomorrow's game and my office windows overlook TD Ameritrade so it will be torture for me.Agree. Colton Howell would probably be next in line. Unless all the sudden Burkamper gets out of the doghouse and gets a try.I like the Greco kid before Hoensee or Howell, Howell has good stuff but I'm looking at maturity and tanit is where Greco has it and the other two don't IMHO. Greco has went 4 to 5 Innings and is just crafty enough to stay in a game. I think Greco would probably be the best option...but you have to get to that point to even worry about it so I would hope we use Greco out of the pen if we need him. If we don't have to burn him some innings then I think he would be our best option.

  16. Sounds like no Deleon again this week. Starting to think we have seen the last of Deleon in a Husker jersey. It would be a shame because he has gave it all for NU. Hoping he can somehow make it back to pitch in a regional.
  17. I guess it is whoever put in the biggest bidcould host, Nebraska has submitted a bid so guess it is a wait and see thing now. It's also dependent on how things shake out on the field. It's possible that NCAA could see Indiana State as a #1 seed and send them to Lincoln for a regional. That would be best case.
  18. Unfortunatly I think you are correct. Eventually we will start beating out some of these schools but when UNLV comes calling it's hard to turn them down. Why? Because it's a big city with casinos? Lots of recruits turn them down every year. What's so special about UNLV that you think we can't compete with them? I mean, if you had said, " ... but when Duke comes calling it's hard to turn them down" I could understand it. But UNLV? What's so special about them? The slot machines? The hookers? What? When you start showing them the history of the Runnin Rebels kids pay attention. It's the same reason why it's so important for us to get football recruits in on gameday because the history and tradition of NU football blows them away. I'd agree that I think NU would be the smart choice for him in regards to his future but UNLV is a very popular choice if you are just worrying about playing basketball.

  20. NU still may have a chance to backdoor our way into hosting a regional. Probably as a #2 seed. That would be awesome.
  21. Oh good. Predictions made by two guys who have never been to Nebraska, never seen our facilities, and don't know our people. Those should carry a lot of weight. Oh good. Predictions made by two guys who have never been to Nebraska, never seen our facilities, and don't know our people. Those should carry a lot of weight. Not going to say they are right or wrong but these are recruiting analysts and insiders that are "graded" for making these predictions. They usually wait until they "know something" or have "heard something" before they predict. Jerry Meyer is 100% correct when he has picked for UNLV and Michael Bohlin is also perfect when picking for UNLV. Let's hope they're wrong this time. Jerry Meyer predicted Cornish to Nebraska on 5/6. I would think once they make a prediction it should be set in stone....but apparently not. It's a fun little thing to follow but I'm not so sure they have any inside info. With that said, Ill be surprised if Cornish picks us.
  22. Its sounding like if the Huskers lose the series this weekend we will be the 9AM game during the Big Ten Tourny...and if we win we will be the 1PM game. If the Big Ten was smart they would have had NU play in the evening game regardless of where we ended up in the standings.
  23. Barring a late season swoon and a screw job from the NCAA I have to think we locked up a regional bid. Huskers flight was cancelled last evening so they had to charter a bus to Omaha for tonight's game.
  24. I took vacation to watch it. I'm jealous, I'm stuck with live stats at work.
