  1. Honest question. Is the Coliseum floor big enough for a regulation court? I think it would be fun, but it could be an issue with the volleyball sideline paint. But I guess Volleyball would be gone, but doubt they are going to repaint it just for one game. But I honestly like the idea of playing the exhibition there. But I doubt it happens because I'm sure the basketball team wants a dress rehersal at their arena. Plus hopefully the program gets to a point where the exhibition games are sold out too. Hey a guy can hope.
  2. I had similar memories of my dad taking me to games sitting up in the bench seats when I was young. As I got into middle school my dad and I would get the Big 12 package and get to sit down in the general admission (which I believe was the student section at the time). We'd get there over an hour before the game and sit in the second row behind press row for each game. Remember Eduardo Naraja (sp) getting T'd up for cussing in spanish at the ref. Heck I even made it on TV for the Kansas game. Danny Nee use to come over and talk with us before each game. As a middle school kid that was the cooliest thing. I'll also remember the Bob for high school basketball too. Being able to play for a state championship there was and will always be special to me.
  3. And Washut has indeed confirmed that such an offer has not been made. Thurman really doesn't seem to fit NU's needs at this time, so an offer at this time would be kind of odd. Other than Verbal Commits, I have not seen any indication that Creighton has offered, either. Not sure where the site got its info. I wouldn't say that he doesn't fit. This to me looks like they might be waiting to see how his grades are. Because he has the talent to garner some offers from Power 6 schools. A lot of these Central guys minus Akoy and TreDon have issues in the classroom.
  4. I absolutely hate when officials want to turn the focus on themselves. This is a great example of that. Just ignore it, move on and do your job. Or how about the refs that have to over exaggerate their calls. One of the refs did that in the Husker game against Michigan State on a charge/block call. Raised his hand to and waited till the shot was made/missed making it seem like it would be a block and then takes two steps and calls a charge. All in a attempt to rile up the crowd. I HATE that. /rant
  5. How dare you question the best on ball defender in college basketball history. /sarcasm
  6. Personally I think Big 10 officiating is terrible across the board. You'd think a conference this prestigious would have quality refs.
  7. That was one of the many games I saw Smith play over the years. Smith always came off as unmotivated and uncoachable. I also. There was a lot of questions about his attitude. That may be the reason no big time schools offered. I'll give you Eickmeier. I don't know the situation around him and Collier. I thought we offered him but he chose Iowa State because of the job secuirty of Collier, but I could be wrong. I don't think you can call Dwight Smith and Jesse Carr as misses for the Huskers. Dwight is a 6'2 PF who would get distroyed at the Big 12/10 level. Carr was only got to CSU because Miles was recruting him at NDSU before he left.
  8. I never got the impression from watching Greg Smith play in high school that he'd be a good Division 1 player. But I'm glad he's proven me wrong.
  9. His loss is bigger than I think most people think or are willing to admit. I've seen him win a few games for them in crunch time.
  10. This may not be a great time to bring this up after they won tonight, but does anybody else think that Zeller is a little overrated? Now I'm not saying he's awful or a bum. But the thought of him being one of the best players in the nation, I don't get it. Yeah he is tall and a good athlete, but he doesn't really seem to do much. I don't think I've ever seen him take a jump shot and it's not like he's a force inside. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
  11. Our adidas uniforms are different from the adidas uniforms that Kansas wears. Yeah KU's are different and they seem to be the only Adidas school with that style. Everybody else seems to have the same as Nebraska's. Here is Michigan's, Louisville's, and NC State's. All the same as Nebraska
  12. There wasn't a Creighton response because it was a Husker chat (oh wait) and it was the last question that he answered. Maybe I'm wrong, but I felt Doc "wanted it" too, he just didn't have the ability to get the job done. Other than that I agreed with everything he wrote.
  13. I do have to say that the current Kansas uniforms are probably better than most of the adidas uniforms that are out there. I was a big fan of the old KU uniforms because they were different. You didn't see another school with anything similar to them. I hate how Nike and Adidas have a uniform and then have a half dozen or so teams with the same exact uniforms. And like what somebody else said in the retro uniforms thread, I wish more schools would develop a good uniform and stick with it for several years. Especially when they find a good one.
  14. The problem with some of the Central players is their grades. Gotta get it done in the classroom too.

  16. Whether you like Dirk or not. I find it amusing that people actually think he makes stuff up. So your telling me that the Omaha World Herald allows one of their columnist to make stuff up. I find that funny.
  17. I think your reaching here. Neither of those two tweets are at all a shot at Nebraska.
  18. Have to agree with you coughunter. I really enjoy reading Dirk's articles and like how he always backs up his arguments with stats and numbers. What I find funny is that people often get mad at Dirk because he's "always negative" and "out to get the program." But a lot of the issues he brings up is what most fans complain about too. For example my dad does not like Dirk, when I asked him why he stated that he's always negative. When I asked what Dirk was negative about and highlighted an article about the offensive line and then the one about Martinez. My response to my dad was, "aren't those the same two things you complain about all the time too?" He had no response to that.
  19. http://www.omaha.com/article/20130130/HUSKERS/701309871/1001#former-nu-star-tyronn-lue-at-peace-on-bench Don't know if anybody else saw this, but thought I'd link it. Pretty good read from Lee B. Interesting note was that TO approached Lue and tried to get him to come out for football.
