  1. I've actually thought Lee has been pretty realatively positive. I read his entire chat yesterday and he was fine. Didn't see anything negative. Agree that L. Kent is horrible. The guy never has anything positive. One guy that I have found really negative is Jake Bogus from 93.7. The guy just can't stop critizing Rey. Seems almost obsessive.
  2. Minnesota: 64 Nebraska: 54
  3. I don't know about anybody else, but the security guard/usher in the yellow jacket in the background looks like a bad@$$
  4. I personally hate make up calls. Even when they benefit the team I'm rooting for. I'd rather have the refs just get it right then to call a non foul to "even it up." Hate that.
  5. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but when I went the to Purdue game I was watching the guys sitting out and I was really impressed with Pitchford. He was walking around talking to guys and it looked like he was showing a lot of good leadership skills. I also remember somebody posted on here that he went over to Parker during the game on the bench and really pumped him up. Also noticed where all the guys sitting out are wearing polo's, but Pitchford actually had dress slacks on and dress shoes. Not a slam on the other guys, but this really impressed me and made the impression that he is all business. I'm really excited to see him play and think he is going to bring a lot to the team.
  6. I think the injury to Peltz is affecting this team more than people think or want to admit. Yeah his offense wasn't good. But he handled the ball well, didn't turn it over and played good defense. Him not being there is forcing guys like Talley to do the things that were previously said. But that's just my opinion.
  7. I absolutely hate when refs exaggerated their calls or come sprinting in. That tells me that they want the attention on them and not the game.
  8. I think he was the same one that believes you can't have a rivalry unless its for something. And the went on to say in state rivalries like Alabama and auburn aren't rivals unless they are playing for a conference or national title.
  9. I gotta agree with you too. They focus the show too much around their Facebook question. And it also seems to be the same or it's just a (for lack of a better term) dumb unrealistic question.
  10. I'm not for sure where to post this, so if it gets move to the appropriate section thats ok. I don't know about anybody else but I'm disppointed with our local Nebraska sports talk shows. -Unsportsmanlike Conduct isn't the same without Kugler and Bishop drives me crazy. Plus they are becoming more Creighton radio. -I thought the Drive would be great with Nick Bahe added, but him and Jake now talk more NBA than anything else. I thought college basketball season would be great with these two, but I was wrong. -I won't listen to 1480 mainly because I've met Schmitt and he's such a jerk that I can't tune in. -Sharpe and Benning is actually my favorite show right now, but Sharpe can be unbareable at times. Plus it really bothers me that they are so willing to make fun of Andre's weight which I don't think is appropriate thing to be critical of a college athlete's personal apperance. Am I totally off base with my remarks or is anybody else hearing the same things?
  11. Promotions like Stripe the Bob or even a white out or black out or anything else similar to that won't work at Nebraska. Mainly becuase Husker fans take so much pride in wearing red to games. Heck I don't own a white husker shirt and I saw a few of you guys post that you don't either. Heck remember last year for the football game at Wisconsin where TO encouraged fans to wear black, and nobody really did. But you have to I guess give some credit for trying????
  12. What made this call even worse was the ref that called it was shielded from the play. But yet the ref that had the clear view let the play go. That is the thing that really drives me nuts about officiating.
  13. +10000 This would make me very very happy.
  14. I remember the first three he hit he seemed to croutch down and make some gesture towards the fans. That that was kinda douchey. Loved when Nebraska was shooting a free throw and a crowd was quiet a student yelled, "Bryd's a pu$$y!" I heard that from across the way. Made me chuckle.
  15. Just my opinion. -I can understand why people are curious of why Vucetic isn't playing. He's got size (height) and seems to have some offensive skill. I also think the fact that he isn't redshirting and still not getting any minutes is confusing to some. -I can also understand why he might not be playing. Strength and speed might be too much right now. But I think the fact of him not redshirting is a big sticking point.
  16. I kinda disagree with you on Parker. I do think he's struggling, but I attribute it to him in a rut. I think he can develop into a very solid backup PG over the next seveal years. Also, Talley IMO is forcing and may being too selfish, but I think that's what he's been asked to do. I'm guessing Miles has told him to be agressive and not afraid to shoot. But Talley has struggled to realize what is a good shot and what is being forced. But those are just my opinions.
  17. Last night was my first chance to see this team in person (which was long overdue) so it was nice to see it live than watching it on TV. -I like most of the people are very pleasently surprised on the development of Shavon. He's really starting to take a leap forward and could see him being a big part of some hopeful future success. -I'd like to see them get Rivers some more touches. His performance against Michigan State is no fluke. Last night I felt he played well considering the defensive focus they had on him. Would have liked to see a play or two ran to get him more looks. -I'm also pleasantly surprised with Rivers. If you would have told me last year that one of the three freshman (Rivers, Moore, Hilliard) would stick around, I would have hoped it woudl have been Moore, then Hilliard. But I'm glad I'm wrong because Rivers is really developing. -I could really be in the minority here, but I think Peltz's absence is hurting this team more than we know. Yeah he's a walk on that doesn't offer much for offense, but the team could really use some help at PG. Talley has played ok, but dribbling the ball isn't his strong suit. Peltz was also a strong defender IMO too. -Very glad to see Tyrance play well. I was a big fan of him walking on at Nebraska and thought he'd have the chance to work into a role on the team. Although he missed some key shots at the end of the game. But heck he and Sheilds were the only ones scoring, so I can't blame him. -I noticed that when there was a jump ball in the 2nd half the Nebraska player (can't remember who) didn't want to give up the ball. This team seems to have a little toughness (saw the same thing against Creighton) that I kinda like. -Don't get me wrong. I loved that Miles let the refs have it a couple of times during time outs. I also noticed the crowd loved it too. However I wondered if a lot of the people who cheered him "giving it to the refs" are the same people who get mad when Pelini does in on the sidelines. Just a thought. -Don't know about anybody else, but I was really impressed with Purdue's big man. Don't know his name but he was #20. I also thought Rivers did a good job against him in the 2nd half too for being undersized.
  18. That would be the smart choice, wonder if Fisher would leave at his age.
  19. Huskers 58 Boilermakers 55
  20. Seeing that you brought up officiating and I didn't see anybody else comment on this, I'll bring it up here. When the Michigan State player got the steal then went in for the dunk and had his knee buckel, where was the foul? It didn't look like the Nebraska player (can't remember who it was) touched him and the ref didn't blow the whistle till the player came back down. The reply looked like he was untouched, but then they got two shots out of it. Just curious if anybody else noticed that, or I'm just crazy. It was Gallegos on the play. And I agree, on replay it didn't look like he hit the guy. But on the initial play it looked like Rey got him pretty good (but that was really only because of how the guy's leg went out on him and he fell hard). Initially it looked like a foul (if only for how the Michigan State player reacted). The play I found a bit...awkward...was the free throw when the dude got a practice shot. The first shot came right back to him (way short and off the front of the iron) and when the ref came out to get the ball to re-set everyone, dude shot it right over the ref's head. The ref said something to him and gave him the ball back. Kid shot three freethrows in a two-shot trip. Good thing he missed them all. Am I wrong in thinking that should have been a delay of game issue (much like grabbing the ball after a made basket)? Anyone? I was listening to the radio when that happened and Pavelka went nuts. He thought it should have been a technical.
