  1. Well that sucked. Michigan State played like Erstsd says he wants to play. Can run, put pressure on the defense. Alvarado is so lost right now it hurts too watch. Smart that he is switching to pitching.
  2. No. That would involve change. And change is bad
  3. Just one more reason to love Dixon Illinois.....
  4. Except Luis was absolutely scuffling at the plate. Looked brutal all weekend. I'd pitch to the guy in the slump in that situation. Good for Luis scratching out a hit.
  5. Not just nice, it's imperative!
  6. Having trouble following this narrative. It isn't what happened. I'm not interested in rehashing the two year old argument, but there was no scandal. We had tremendous talent coming in. The issues involved could have been fixed without blowing it all up. The brand and reputation would have been fine. This was self-created program destruction at the Department level. To that extent, I guess it was somewhat similar to football, where a rogue AD and a Chancellor who should have stuck to academics conspired for years to blow up the Devaney-Osborne era. When things like this happen, ADs shouldn't be free from scrutiny, or the cycle keeps repeating itself. At some point there will need to be accountability. That concept isn't remotely only about winning.
  7. Right, that's who I was directing my angst at. Realizing that I just used horrible grammar calling someone else an idiot.
  8. These people are ridiculous. Miles left Vegas to watch Agau play in Kansas City. He recruited the hell out of the kid. For anyone to create some back story here is being incredibly disingenuous. If the story was created by Agau, it is pathetic. Give me a break--I consider myself dissed because coach went to New Zealand right away, even though he later recruited me hard, I went to every football game with a nice sideline pass. If he meant anything he put in that tweet, he needs to get over himself. If anyone was disrespected, it was our team when the kid wore Georgetown gear on a visit. The idiots on Scout need to quit this stupid narrative.
  9. I meant recruiting players at a much higher level than RCJ. Players you compete in the Big 10 with. No offense to the young lady, who plays with good effort, but she isn't a Power 5 athlete or player. Never gonna be. And we have guards as good as her (and better if the transfers reputation is even close to deserved) to put on the floor. What we don't have is any proven post players. If we continue to be a bottom dweller, it will have nothing to do with not offering RCJ. It will be because this staff in the short term didn't add any inside players, and in the long term, just doesn't have the contacts and recruiting chops to get it done at this level. Now, there's still time to prove they do. But the early returns are troublesome, and the whole thing was a reach in the first place by our AD.
  10. At this point it comes down to recruiting. I am absolutely amazed that there seems to be no news on the spring 2017 signing period, when we desperately need bodies; particularly bigs. Even if we didn't account for Shepherd leaving, we should have been targeting Jucos, graduate transfers, and high school players who didn't sign in November, for months. Maybe they'll pull a rabbit out of the hat, but it is already May. If there were no stop gap measures being taken, it was simply a choice to tank another couple of seasons (the 2018 verbals so far aren't the type to immediately come in and get you a lot of wins; they will need experience). So far we have signed zero 4/5 players who would be eligible in 2017-18, despite having a year to do so. Very concerning.
  11. Take the time to read the book Nebrasketball. Scott Winter gives a pretty good look into it. He's tough as hell and brutally honest in practice. In smaller groups in public or private he's pretty much what you see on the stage.
  12. He also brought some bad coaches with him. Fortunately he jettisoned some of them rather than swirling down the drain with them. Major upgrades on the new hires, especially in recruiting.
  13. Good player on offense.
  14. Missed the 9-5-1, Fever. We have to count that, despite Tom Hanks' rule that "There's no tying in baseball".
  15. Well, just because you root for Creighton doesn't mean you are any more mature then the Husker fan who roots against CU in every game. It's just a choice of what teams you love, like, don't care about, or hate. That's what fans are about. Has nothing to do with "childish". There are a bunch of Yankee-Red Sox fans, OU vs. OSU (The "Aggie rivalries"), MU vs. KU fans. There would be millions of "childish" people, I guess. If you choose to root for Creighton, fine and dandy. But it's a choice, not a badge of honor. Someone who enjoys rooting against them in every game isn't being childish. They're being sports fans. Are you equally critical of Jayskers who root for NU football and hate NU Basketball?
  16. I'd buy that school if Norm would commit to sending his kids there.
  17. Teddy wants to be a coach on the floor, vs. an Ops guy. As CWG notes, this was a done deal a few weeks ago. I expect the position to be filled in-house, although that is pure speculation on my part. Brent Sapp and Greg Eaton are highly thought of in the basketball offices and athletic department.
  18. Kent, take a DEEP breath. It's going to be OK.....
  19. I vote that we have Norm work with him on his shot. That free throw percentage will go up considerably if he does that.
  20. Kenya is a BEAST and deserves a raise!
  21. I don't know if Cip tried to recruit him. He was a project, but kept growing and improving. Ended up being an effective player for Creighton.
  22. I think Mike Heck got to be 7'2". I first saw him when he was a 6'10 sophomore playing on the Papilion JV team.
  23. Based on the sweet deal he got from Harvey, he won't be getting a refund.
