  1. Welcome. It's a good place to hang out.
  2. It may also be matchup driven with Jack. EIU was small, quick and athletic. Not a game for Jack.
  3. Especially Gill. I can't believe he went scoreless in zero seconds of action.
  4. *We're down 10 at half if Roby doesn't play great. *Palmer must have been reading his press clippings; disappointing night. If he misses open looks consistently he will struggle in the league. *Copeland's mid range game was improved, but he played soft. He has to rebound better. *EIU was decent but this game was alarming. *not a good matchup for Jack tonight.
  5. Appreciate the guts and accountability in owning up to that one. Respect.
  6. Assume there had to be a bunch of bad advice from adults on this one
  7. All the natural and obvious consequence of a horrible hire by a pathetically overmatched AD. How this can be a surprise to anyone amazes me.
  8. Yeah, if we had Bakari I'm sure we would have been 19-12.
  9. Good point. And that would have been bad.
  10. Enough already. Bakari may be one of the most overrated player on message boards in the history of message boards. 3rd string i-back love back in the day. The type of Big 10 player you finish last with. If we still have that guy on scholarship and don't take Allen when he becomes available as a result, well.....
  11. Ah, back in the day....
  12. I truly believe that had Mikki redshirted his first year, we would have that elusive NCAA tournament victory. We were very talented during what would have been his redshirt senior year. With him, it would have been ridiculous.
  13. After watching it you want another year of it?
  14. They know.
  15. Jim Miller. Chime in, old timers!
  16. I'm officially jealous, and I hope to join Jimmy, Trickey, and you sooner vs. later.
  17. Had to bail at the end of 8. Jimmy, what's the point in being retired, if you can't indulge in something like this?
  18. "Super Glue"?
  19. Sort of, but he was more athletic than your basic Glue Guy. Played for years in Euro pro ball, so he's a step up from glue guy, although he did a lot of that stuff for us.
  20. A "back in the day" Husker glue guy: Terry Novak. After a very successful year his senior year (I think it was '77-78), we returned everybody except Terry, who was nothing flashy. So hopes were high. And we sucked. All he did was "glue" stuff. Teams need it. His impact on the team was way more than anyone knew at the time.
  21. I Could go on record now, but it would be ridiculous since I haven't seen any of them play one second of basketball. Never been a fan of completely uninformed opinions. So I abstain.
  22. Well, they are in the State of Norm.
  23. Jimmy, all i can say is that some's funny stuff right there. Bringing your A game in retirement!
  24. Norm, with all due respect, I am more of the "you are what your record says you are" with regard to last year's team. You're right on Rutgers, and perhaps Ohio State, but at the time we lost to Illinois, it was a better team. We were a really bad team right then. Lots of things were going on. but it added up to not very good. And don't forget Iowa at home could have easily gone the other way, not to mention Indiana and Maryland. I know from prior posts you believe part of the collapse the last few weeks was due to the team getting demoralized and some chemistry problems, especially from a particular player. I would factor in a really poor shooting team, poor perimeter defense, and really inexperienced post play. We were bad through many points of the season. You don't lose to Gardner Webb and barely beat Southern if you're a lot better than your record. We got hot for a few games in late December, early January, but mostly we weren't good. Anyway, it's in the past and I look forward to being improved this year, and surprising the prognosticators who have us 13th in the league. But if we do finish 13th, I would be shocked if their isn't a change.
