  1. Not Sam but damn right Yori counts as his second.
  2. Lose Eddins for the year. Not good.
  3. Funny? Hell, that's where I'm living. Dudes are twins.
  4. Actually, I'm your Huckleberry. I do the first two every day. And ya know what, some won't be managed, mentored, or coached. And way more the last 10-15 years than before that. You try everything--"correcting" them, encouraging them, establishing consequences, rewarding. Believe me, throwing the entire tool box to help someone improve. But often that person doesn't want any part of it. They want results and validation. And they're usually getting validation from a parent or someone else, whether they've earned it or not. Failing to reach someone despite putting resources and effort into it and then having someone leave doesn't mean you're a bad manager, mentor or coach. And I'm talking today's world, not necessarily the specific topic at hand.
  5. FWIW I think we'll be better next year also. Than this year. Which shouldn't be hard, it was one of the worst teams to ever take the floor at Nebraska. Own it, Shawn. Agree with Sam on the guards. Hoping for stepped up recruiting.
  6. Perfect. Although I would up the age. Pretty much see that up to age 35 these days. And I have employed people for 30+ years.
  7. Chuck, with all due respect, your predictions going into this season were completely delusional, and ultimately proved comical. This stuff above is more of the same. Seriously, if you think Darrien showed significant improvement this year, you couldn't have been watching. Your world view of peace and love takes over, which I'm sure is pleasant to be around, and Shawn Eichorst would love it--but it has nothing to do with the real world. I have bad news for you--Jazz, Grace and Riley are never going to be players who allow us to compete at a high Big 10 level. Lots of obvious reasons but I'm not going to spell them all out. If this is going to happen its going to be because of recruiting. Like all the drivel before this season about "fun!" and improved chemistry and kumbaya would make us good. 7-22 says it takes players; this staff better go find a bunch.
  8. Well, then he should just transfer and not say stupid shit. I know you don't care about women's basketball, but the Posts bashing Shepherd for transferring are about 99-1. Here it's mostly bashing the coach. Funny world we live in. One day apart.
  9. Ed calls his transfer a "sacrifice". What an unfortunate choice of words. Ted Williams or Pat Tillman could tell him when leaving a team is a sacrifice .
  10. Not being able to dribble or shoot won't change with the scenery.
  11. Nice moves, Norm. No wonder you have so many kids.
  12. Sorry Norm, I have officially given up.
  13. Don't tell Dakich he's definitely a better shooter than Evan Taylor.
  14. This for me as well.
  15. Great edit, Norm! (you didn't have me until then)
  16. Not to mention Washington, who regressed noticeably. Some people on here were convinced that she was getting screwed on playing time, and the positive approach would work wonders. Turns out everyone took the OFF-season quite literally.
  17. All so predictable. In 1996, a group of disgruntled Nebraska basketball players walked into the athletic director's office demanding an audience so as to air their grievances, and threatening a boycott. The AD promptly kicked them out and told them to get to practice. We went on to win the NIT Championship, and go to the NCAA tournament the next year. In 2015-16, a group of disgruntled people--a former Director of Basketball operations, a trainer, a few players and some parents, weighed in with their grievances. The AD and his henchman listened intently, with great concern on their faces, salved the owies of the complainers, and commenced a full scale investigation. They offered no support for the coach, despite an impeccable record with regard to wins and championships, graduation rate, and doing things the right way. "No", they said, "this is no longer 1996! We must get on the energy bus!" So the winning-est coach in the history of the sport of basketball at Nebraska was fired, and we all lived happily ever after, frolicking on the energy bus. Well, except the last part.
  18. Played on the one at Kearney. We all thought that was the wave of the future! What the hell did we know? I didn't like the feel of the dribble on it, or the sound.
  19. A tie goes to the runner.
  20. A lot of folks were in denial a year ago. Reality bites.
  21. Gino singled her out for criticism on her conditioning after the UConn game. That is almost unheard of. Perhaps he will see it as a challenge. But he is aware of some of the problems.
  22. Yeah, there was some major league backing the wrong horse by Eichorst and then Williams. Didn't work out so well. In the meantime, Kathleen Doyle goes 11 points, 8 assists, and 5 boards last night for Iowa. Horrible judgment by the AD coming home to roost.
  23. Hardly.
  24. Well, yeah, but what do you think about Brandon Ubel's playing time?
  25. Not a very good baseball team.
