  1. Other Big 10: Rachel Banham 2nd team Samantha Logic 3rd team Others: Marisssa Janning, Creighton, 3rd team
  2. Had to have been a dilemma for the Jayskers. Their hero going out of his way to make an anti-Nebraska football statement? Call it what you want, Donkey, but for a guy with no Northwestern ties other than living sorta close to Evanston, it was a pretty direct shot to a big percentage of he and his dad's fan base, the Jaysker.
  3. http://www.hawkeyesports.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/101714aaa.html Sorry to hear this. Not a Hawkeye fan. But it was fun to see Iowa lose to Maryland yesterday. (Sorry, wrong sport)

  5. yeah, the Miles part of the comic was some funny stuff today.
  6. Great article by Sam. Whatever sport he covers, his analysis is at a higher level than most. He brings the x and o perspective to the reader better than any of his peers, IMO. This article is illustrative of why you don't just plug the next one up into the lineup when a great player graduates and not have there be a big effect. One can sense with this article that they are thinking of going small rather than play a lot of 2 big lineups.
  7. Norm, I suspect those showed up as soon as the "first hour streamed live" part was over.....
  8. Sorry to hear of your fall, Jimmy. Best wishes for a quick recovery. HB
  9. That is one articulate, mature guy.
  10. As long as the linker is linking, there is a nice David Rivers story in the OWH.
  11. one of the few groups on earth that make Jay Fan look good by comparison
  12. Thanks for the explanation, Norm. I had no idea what the hell you were talking about. But I trusted you nonetheless that your work was good.....
  13. Bilas and others should weigh in on this, as they did with K-State, and even Sami Spenner at UNO. Make it national. Whoever is tone deaf at Bama needs to get a new set of ears.
  14. Not our job. That's why Eichorst gets paid good money. Find someone who can make the NU football program competitive on the national level again. Bo has improved? How so? Last I checked he has lost 4 games every single year. Last I checked his team still commits penalties and turnovers at a high rate. The only thing that may save him this year from losing 4 games is our God awful schedule. We have clearly flat lined under him. Clearly we haven't. But the good thing is we can come back at the end of the season and revisit these posts. And if I'm wrong, I'll own it. But if you don't think we've hit our recruiting stride the past 2-3 years, again, your mind is made up and you aren't paying attention. If you don't think the front four defensively is heads and tails above where it was in earlier years, you're not watching. And for those whining about the depth, we played missing about 8 starters last night and still came close on the road against a good team. A work in progress (see, O-line and linebackers, and your point about penalties and turnovers is valid), but it is in fact progressing, not flat-lining. Special teams is a specific example of that; there is noticeable improvement this year. Just because we're in year 7 doesn't mean a staff can't keep getting better; T.O. did that 20 years into it in '93 after several rough years. 2015 and 2016 classes are looking good, and to blow it all up and start over again would not be good. But, I know none of this will convince the anti-Bo folks. Let's just check back at the end of the season, and I'll go on record as predicting high levels of success (barring even further long term injuries to key guys like AA, Tommy, Gregory, Maliek, and VV).
  15. Not if you're paying attention. Future is bright.
  16. That was freaking awesome....
  17. Is it just me, or does it seem like Rachel Banham has been playing for the Gophers for about 7 years?

    H-BD CY!

That is some seriously funny smack from Meghin.
  19. Interesting post with regard to Miles involvement with Rivers' improved productivity. There was a lot of criticism on here of Miles at the time he cut Rivers' minutes, particularly from one certain poster. This is certainly a different perspective.
  20. Saw it during the Royals game. Funny stuff.
  21. I don't think he needs to be a projected lottery pick to go, only first round. Guaranteed money is too good for a first rounder. It will be interesting to see it play out.
  22. Re Terran: Barring injury, he...is....GONE. We have had an ongoing dialogue on here; will be interesting to go back through the threads next May. Don't think I'll be laying on the ground on top of that limb I'm out on. UNL, the pro scouts aren't going to go off of numbers. It's a projection thing, not a college numbers thing. I look forward to seeing Terran for another year (meaning this year) at good 'ol NU.
