  1. This is unbelievable. Until recently we have been a basketball wasteland. Winter in Nebraska meant losing basketball. Then, within a 4 year timeframe, we have the NATIONAL Coach of the Year in both men's and women's basketball. If anyone would have predicted that 5 years ago, you would have said "I'll have what she's having"....
  2. Oh man, game set and match to Dimes!!
  3. Try not to get any tears on your sweater vest. Just a perfect example of players (and in this case fans) reflecting their FB coach's personality. He is not from Nebraska, he knew nothing of either NU or CU before dropping passes here err... attending school here. obviously he also forgot about the basketball game in December as he was probably dropping passes err.... practicing hard for his bowl game. This sounds very Craytonish of you...no need to hide it, we all know you are a Crayton fan. Where did Kenny say Nebraska was better than Crayton this year? So once Nebraska beats Crayton at the Pinnacle next year..this means Kenny is free to enjoy Crayton's basketball losses? Like many of us..I'm sure Kenny grew weary of the holier than thou attitude from most Crayton fans. And being a Nebraska basketball fan he has no reason to like Crayton...but yes, I'm sure this all Pelini's fault. Errrrrr yes, very Craytonish of you Crayton fan. You guys just can't help yourself. It doesn't take long for you guys to be outed. As if you knew.... Be it a fan of either, a fan of both or a fan of neither is moot. Reality is, one fan base is in the position to regularly defend actions and words of players and coaches, one is not. Some people are willing to do so for "their team"(your name here), some are not (my name here). For me and me alone, its a core values decision not a loyalty decision. At the end of the day, KB has his right to say what he feels is appropriate and we have the right to say I like or dont like it. One fan base has written on their walls " Through These Gates Pass the Greatest Fans in College Football.”.... known for their collective class. I dont think KB is honoring that as a fan and I am not going to defend it. Is it part of your "class" and "core values" to diss KB for "dropping passes". Kind of hypocritical on your part, not to mention way off base, as KB is a superb wide out who makes some great catches, including a highlight reel ESPN special--regardless of what you think of his tweeting.

Didn't make it out of the semis, but good effort J-Hoop. Way to represent!

    Hooper at Final 4

Good job making the first cut, Hoop! Plus she beat a Purdue player. Nice.
  6. Good run by the Gophers in the NIT. Elaison ends the year mostly riding the pine. Minny should be pretty good next year. I thought dad Pitino being so animated on the sidelines was strange. I obviously think it's great he was there to support his son, but to be barking out instructions doesn't really help son's image and may undercut him a little.
  7. Just a reminder to watch Jordan compete in the 3 point championship at the Final 4. I think it is tonight at 8:00 p.m. central time on ESPN, but you might want to verify that.
  8. My avatar pal and I could not agree more. Myself also. That's just a tough moment in a person's life. Been in that room, and will be there again, and it hurts just to think about it.
  9. 1) After what length of living in the state of Nebraska are you allowed to have disparaging or jaded opinions about schools in the state of Nebraska? 2) How could he have such an opinion after so short of time? 3) Is is possible there are certain pseudo-Husker fans who troll him on twitter and message boards? 4) Is it's possible their crappy POV and attitudes are responsible for the feedback and opinions from Kenny Bell? 1) obviously less than 4 years 2) logically from people who's opinion he values, say a coach or Nebraska native team mate from outside of Omaha. 3) yes 4) "their crappy POV" being who? Has there been one person associated with CU that has mentioned NU in disparaging fashion from their AD, to Coach, to Players of any sport? Can NU say the same??... the answer to both questions is two letter word and the word starts with "N". You must be talking about a portion of their fanbase? and to that, the answer would be "yes" and it would be "yes" for every team in America. So is it a fair assumption you, like most BOlievers would rather excuse the behavior than say its wrong? If twitter was around during the TO, Solich years could you imagine this occuring? much less with fan support? You actually make some good points in your response, until you get to the last part of #4. Your disdain for our football coach has obviously colored your views, as well as your knowledge of history. Can we imagine "this" occurring if twitter was around during the TO/Solich years? Are you kidding me? Of course--this and much worse. You want to put twitter in the hands of Christian Peter, Jason Peter, Lawrence Phillips, Riley Washington, and such folks, at their maturity level at that time? Do you really think we had a bunch of choir boys back then? I suspect we would have had a few problems that would make Kenny's tweet look like "Goodnight Moon".
  10. Not really LOL. It was a good post by Cookie.
  11. That would be Chartrice White, from Shelby-Rising City High School, who has signed a letter of intent to play at Illinois.
  12. Missed the game; just watched the highlights. She had 9 boards; I didn't catch how many points. Looked quite good in the highlights.
  13. May he have his way with Creighton
  14. I agree that makes sense, but that sure hasn't been Connie's history No, it hasn't. The transfer would have to have great character and be a good student as well. However, and this might be the wrong way to think of it, in the past would we have had transfers that would have really helped us out a lot? Pre 2010 I doubt very many if any high profile transfers gave us a look but now that we have some national recognition maybe higher profile transfers would look at us and thus would be more enticing to pick up. Yep, all good points.

  16. It looks like we recruited behind her quite well; that shouldn't be near the problem it was this year. Sadie was a great kid, but at 5'5 on her tiptoes and not fleet of foot, she was going to need more than hustle to play many minutes at this level. The other potential departure is even less suited for the high D1 level and it wouldn't be a bad thing if that was faced now instead of putting it off. Having said that, we may have a class balancing issue if no one red shirts from the 2013 recruiting class. The 2014 class shape up to be a decent sized class also. Would be surprised if the quality doesn't continue to be an upgrade over the thin 2011 class, and the dismal 2012 class.
  17. Not a surprise. Wouldn't be a surprise if there is one more announcement. Best wishes to Sadie; Connie's statement says it all. Hope she plays a ton at her new school and lights it up from outside.

One other observation: Did anyone else think the A & M crowd was weak? They were pretty quiet, despite having an undefeated top ranked UConn team at 40-37 in the second half. they did do a nice job of giving their players a standing O after the game, but I thought they were pretty subdued throughout the contest. This was the Elite 8, and I don't get that.

Fun night at PBA watching some good athletes. GBR chant near the escalators after the game. Funny.
  20. Try being a Royals and Cubs fan. Brutal. Just brutal

Oh man, it keeps getting worse! Wish I could help--a hug, a case of beer, whatever. I still have that ahead of me. I like to think I could handle a lot of things, but being wrong on TO and the Huskers (OK, and a certain political point of view) would be VERY difficult to handle. Not sure, but he may have personal reasons as I suspect NU didn't bother to recruit him coming out of HS. And he thinks that all Husker fans are rude and obnoxious. The recruiting part I get (not from personal experience!), but I have found the opposite to be true concerning most of our fans. Nicest folks anywhere. Oh well, I 'm sure you handle it more maturely then I would. all I expect out of my future son-in-law is that he loves the Huskers, Nebraska, likes to fish and hunt, votes the right way, has a job, makes his own way in life.... Other than that, I'm really tolerant!

Wow, Chode, my condolences. Hating TO and Nebraska is Un-American among other things. I may print this and show it to my in-laws, to help them understand I many not be the worst son-in-law after all.
