  1. Bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him...
  2. I doubt he will want to redshirt knowing that if we continue to recruit more people for his position, his playing time will just continue to diminish.
  3. My thoughts exactly. If you don't like playing on Wednesday, then get better. Don't say it's not fair for the better teams to get a "bye". They should get rewarded for a better season.
  4. White Shields Watson Jacobson Webster Morrow Parker McVeigh Fuller Hammond Evelyn
  5. Just curious why you say this? Have you seen Gill play or just basing it that he is a transfer from Louisville? I hope your right as people seem to have pretty high expectations of him. I have yet to see him play so can't make any judgements on him but hope he is as good as everyone thinks he is.
  6. And looked like Shields hit the wall today also

  8. I disagree with you Norm. I don't base my perception of Coach Mo on the Purdue game. I look at more the Penn State game where we felt we need to double team down in the post (yet again) and got killed by the only 2 guys hurting us cause we left them alone. It is easy for good teams to figure out we are going to bring a guard down to double team and a good post player just kicks the ball out for a wide open shot since we can't rotate over fast enough. I get it that against teams like Purdue, we have to double but against other teams, we don't. Yet Coach Mo's philosophy is to double all over the place. Just seems to me that we were much better defensively before he came on staff. I'm not saying everything thing is his fault but he isn't totally blameless either.
  9. It seats 16,300.Cameron Indoor is small...is that what you were thinking of? No idea what I thought. Maybe I thought it was small because of the field house moniker. I thought Allen fieldhouse was a hard ticket to get. It is a hard ticket to get but not because it's a small arena. It's cause it sells out every game and KU fans don't sell their tickets.
  10. Same here. It is an awesome venue. You won't regret it.
  11. While we may get our butts handed to us next year...it's better than playing Deleware St IMO. Yes! There's a chance you come out with a win @ KU... I like that small chance better than coming out with a loss @ Home to a team like Samford. Sure...a "chance" at a win, LOL. Bill Self has more Big 12 regular season conference championships than he does home losses in his tenure at KU. They also hold the current longest home court winning streak in NCAA Div I. Nebraska will be going in to that game at about #100 in KenPom. KU is currently KenPom #1. But yeah. We got a chance... My only hope is they don't decide to do to us what they did to Colorado a couple years ago, just because they can. Don't care. I'm still going.
  12. I'm probably against the majority but I actually like 2 half's instead of 4 quarters. If it would eliminate some media timeouts and team timeouts, then I'd be more in favor of it. I still think each team gets to many timeouts and they are just used to bail your team out of a bad situation. No other sport can call timeout right in the middle of a play just to bail you out of a bad situation.
  13. Brilliant. Especially since Mo coaches defense. I hate the defense we run. They have 2 shooters that are killing us and every time, we leave them open to go down and double in the low post. Here's a thought, how about playing them straight up and see if we can handling them down low without bring the double team each time and let them just shoot wide open 3's. They were the worst 3 point shooting team and we make them look like they are the best. Coach Mo loves to just double everywhere and it's not working.
  14. Ummmm...Miles has offered plenty of guys who also received offers from the big dogs. From the start he was offering guys who we had no business getting. Problem is, those players initially wouldn't take a serious look at Nebraska. Miles has done very well identifying talent early in the process. Very rarely have I seen our targets' narrowed down list include IUPUI, Drake, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff ala Doc. Early on a targets offer list may include such teams but that is because Miles has offered early before a kids recruitment blows up and big dogs come in. Jordy Tahimanga, our latest big target is choosing between Arizona, Pittsburgh, and Nebraska. That's a far cry from Lipscomb, IUPUI, and Doane. I realize we've offered some studs. It's year four and we haven't signed a big fish...I never said the roster needs an overhaul but only mentioned that NU has to get one of these every once in a while...did you read my last two sentences? We might not have caught a world record fish, but we have caught plenty of fish that many other fisherman would love to have caught. That does it, I'm going to Long John Silver's for lunch.
  15. Seems to always be a theme with recruits. First article out after their visit is they seem to like what they see at NU but that doesn't mean anything unless they sign on the dotted line.
  16. Good post ajb5856. When you step back and take an objective overall look at the program today, I think Miles has us right where we should be. He first need was to step up recruiting which he has done. That is something that couldn't be done right away as it takes a few years. I do understand it's one thing to get the players and another thing to be able to win with them. He is still playing with a few of Doc's recruits so next year, it will be the first year it will be all his recruits. I find it amazing how some people wanted to give Doc more time here and yet are starting to call for MIles seat to get warm. We have lost good assistant coaches every year and yet we are still very competitive. I happened to watch Southern Miss play on TV this past weekend and I'd take a Miles coached team any day. Miles has only been here 3 full years and has taken us to the NCAA tournament 33% of the time (Granted that will drop to 25% after this year). Based one the recruiting efforts he and his staff has done, I don't see anything less than 2 more years. If we are still around .500 at that time, then I can see the need to start wondering if he is the right guy or not. Till them, I'm still drinking the kool-aid.
  17. Just Testing how to do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDda4Vj__aU
  18. AMEN
  19. If we finish 3-1...say beating OSU, PSU, NW and beat Ohio state again in the tournament that would leave us with a record of 18-14 and a RPI near 120 at that point. Tack on another win vs say...Iowa, that puts us at 105 for RPI. Now, that would be close to being in the discussion...but probably asking alot out of this team. Below is the latest NIT bracketology out of NYCBuckets who is usually pretty good...to put it in persective...Arizona St and Ole Miss are the two lowest seeded teams in the field right now. Both with RPI's in the low-mid 80's. Not 100% sure how they pick the NIT teams but we are 70 spots off that pace right now. It's more difficult to get into the NIT now as any team that wins their regular season conference title but does not get selected to the Big Dance gets an invite to the NIT automatically. http://www.nycbuckets.com/2016/02/nit-bracketology-feb-17-2016/ I do agree it's a long shot to make it but it's still possible. Here is a different NIT Bracketology that has us listed as still being considered. This was updated last Friday so the one you have it more current but shows that depending on what site you look at, there still is a glimmer of hope. http://bracketmatrix.com/nit
  20. That is breaking news that his brother had knee surgery.
  21. I hope so but wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see him in uniform again. I still think it will be another week and make his return against Penn State.
  22. I disagree as think we can finish 3-1 down the stretch and get a win or two in the Big 10 tournament and still have a decent shot at NIT bid. If we go 3-1 in our last four games, we would finish the year 17 - 14. Not saying it will happen but that would still put us in the conversation at least.
  23. We aren't currently projected in the NIT field (not surprising) but we are at least as one of the teams being considered http://bracketmatrix.com/nit
  24. So? I'd still go if I can. Me as well. GBR I'm planning on going. Been to Allen Fieldhouse twice and would go back anytime I can. It's an awesome atmosphere. Don't care if NU gets blown out, I'll still be there.
  25. And if had fired Tom Osborne for simple not beating OU every year, we wouldn't have 3 more National Championship trophies in the trophy case.
