We show up but we don't make noise, typically. That's something we have to fix. And the HUSKER POWER chant to open each game is a good start. There is a big difference between best fans and most rowdy fans. No doubt NU fans are very loyal and show up but just like in football that showing up doesn't necessarily make it a tough environment to play in. NU fans are "self proclaimed" the greatest fans in college sports but there are way more difficult environments to play in than Lincoln, NE

He just narrowed his schools down to his top 7. They are: Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, Georgetown, Florida State, VCU and Nebraska. Some pretty good competition but can’t get him unless you make the list.

I like when we are picked to finish last or close to it. We tend to perform better when we don't have to high of expectation on us.

Might have been a poor choice of wording on my part but it seemed that Shavon was really on or really off. There were games where he was really good and put the team on his back but other games where teams would take away his strength in driving to the rim were the games where he would struggle. Those games where he was well scouted and couldn't get to the rim and was forced to be a jump shooter is where he was "inconsistent".

Great post and point. As much as I hate CU, that is how they are so effective in that you have to pretty much play everyone straight up since all 5 guys on the floor are a scoring threat. That is how I see our team this year with not having the "go to" guy like we have had in the past. As we've learned, we tend to give that guy the ball and expect him to make something happen while the other guys get in a "stand around and watch" mode. Again, that is what makes CU so effective is they move the ball very well and are all good shooters which is why NU seems to have a hard time guarding them since Coach M like to double team a lot and they move the ball so quickly that his defense isn't as effective against teams like that. I think we all can agree that losing Benny is probably a good thing moving forward and Shavon was inconsistent at times this past year. AWIII is a good shooter but isn't not very athletic in the open court or creating his own shot. I could see the team this year being better overall with these 3 players gone. Team chemistry is a huge deal in basketball and I could see it being very good this year. I can't wait for the season to get here. I still get excited just walking to the mailbox each day hoping my tickets will be there.

Is there a reason why you can't spill it? You don't owe White anything. That ship sailed, no? Cause he doesn't know any more than the rest of us. It's all just speculation at this point. Andrew is very good about keeping things tight lipped. Also of schools have been mentioned so it's possible he goes to 1 of them but I doubt he knows anymore than anyone else does.

What are you basing your comments on about Gill can fill it up from 3 and he's probably being our biggest threat from 3? He was not a great 3 point shooter at Louisville so just wondering why you think he's a big threat now? I'm not even sure he would be in my top 3 players I consider our biggest threat to shoot 3 pointers. Just curious what you are basing this on? I'm guessing it stems from the flashes that fans saw in last years fall scrimmage and talk out of practice this past season? I think Gill is a better shooter than what he had shown at UL and he is going to get his change to prove that just like Petteway/White did. With that said, most of the talk has been about him being a very good downhill player getting and finishing at the rim. That may be more difficult now that AWIII bailed. I think he is a better player at slashing and getting to the rim than he is a 3 point shooter. I hope he improves tremendously in this area but that was a huge knock against him at Louisville about his poor 3 point shooting. Would love to see him develop into one but that is why I was wondering why someone would make comments that this is going to be a strength of his when it hasn't been in the past.

I'm planning to head down to Lawrence as well for the KU game. I've went to a few games at KU in the past and have always bought my tickets on Stubhub or a ticket broker site. I will tell you that going to a KU home game is about as good of environmental you will ever see in College Basketball. It will be worth the money.

My opinion of AWIII has completely changed. He seemed to be a humble person who cared about this teammates and coaches but in realty, he is very self centered and willing to turn your back on the entire program. You have the opportunity to play on the Big Stage in the Big 10 and take NU back to the NCAA tournament but instead, you want to take the easy road and try to go to another team yet again that will showcase your limited talents. I applaud Coach Miles for not giving in to the White's family pressure to just try and showcase his son. AWIII could have been an All-Conference player here at NU but instead he is going to take his ego and chase a better opportunity than what he had here. I don't see it working out for him but guess that's his call. He has made his decision and I've made mine to only care about the kids who want to be here. Don't care where AWIII ends up or will follow his career as we do with former Huskers.

I could care less where that selfish person goes. Yes, I am bitter he is leaving. You get nothing but support when you are here and then stabs his teammates and coaching staff in the back. I think Andrew White and his dad's problem is that the think he is a little better than he really is.

Great post and I couldn't agree more with your comments about Parker. I know he gets a lot of love on this board but I posted many times that the negatives with him outweighed the positives. Seemed like a great kid and well liked but he is very replaceable on the court. Shavon was a very good player but was pretty one dimensional and not very consistent at times. You do hate to lose players like Shavon but honestly, I think we will be a better overall team without him next year. Just realized that starting this year, it will be entirely Miles recruits as Benny and Shavon was the last 2 from the Sadler era.

Football- At the time i had mixed feelings, but now looking at it with hindsight, its a no brainier, we have a better stronger conference, and hopefully Iowa, and Wisky hold up and continue to be competitive. Basketball- easiest no brainier bball is so much more competitive with teams like OSU having a down year but likely bouncing back next year. Other Sports- Volleyball has always been more national than conference based, so we just need to continue being a national powerhouse, conference dosnt matter, Baseball will continue to take some time, but continued success and exposure for northern teams is helping Baseball all around. Academics- no brainier, dont even need to discuss how much better it is to be with other successful academic institutions. ReP- the rep is coming as the blue bloods like NU, Penn State, Ohio St, Mich continue to get back to national prominence,and teams like Iowa and MSU keep succeeding it wont be long til Big Ten vs SEC will be an actual conversation. Not sure I agree with you on Football. I could make the argument that the Big 12 was actually better overall. Big 10 football is a pretty boring conference. I could get more excited to play Iowa State than I can to play Purdue. And your comment about Iowa and Wisconsin hold up and be more competitive. I think NU needs to look in the mirror on that one as it seems that Nebraska hasn't held up on the competitive end. Seriously, we play in the "joke" half of the conference and we are having a hard time even competing with those teams. We'd never make the Big 10 championship game if we played in the East division. ' Overall, the Big 10 was great for Volleyball but a huge downgrade in baseball. As far as football or basketball, it's probably about an equal move as we probably didn't really gain or lose much.

The fact that Nebrasketball has six (seven by Fran Fraschilla's account of Tai coming out of NZ) 4 stars on its roster is just stupid. Now the pressure to start winning will get even more turned up. It's one thing to get the players but it's another to be competitive and compete for conference championships. Our roster is looking pretty solid so now it's time to start actually changing the mentality and realize we should be finishing in the top half of the league every year and looking to be conference champions.
