  1. It's a little Harlequin for my taste, but hey, if the players picked it, that's what matters. I would've done "Im with stupid------------>"
  2. Streak ends. UM-72 NU-65
  3. he said he averages about 1-2 a year, so he's due. but it would have to be pretty dire for him, I think. We're still in a race for postseason play and every game we're playing is close, so it would have to be pretty serious. I honestly expected him to in the PSU game in the 2d half. If he doesn't do it then, he might not this year.
  4. Coach Kidney is definitely one of my favorites.
  5. I'd prefer to let sleeping dogs lie for the Michigan game, but maybe a loss to a team we just beat won't hurt. I'm looking forward to this game.
  6. this is a problem of just being in a stacked position. if he winds up 3rd team, I wouldn't take it personally this being his first year and all. but I don't see him going lower than 3rd team unless the wheels come off the Husker wagon.
  7. wow, some people don't like pep bands. this makes me sad. it's one of the best remaining things about college sports. i'm with Swan on this one.
  8. Ask PSU about how hard it is to get rivalries in the conference. They've been in it for 20 years and still no one treats them as a rival. Not even in football. Rivalries take antagonism over time. Bad blood. Our best bet is to get a team where we just have nasty games with a few times in a row. Other than that, we have to play for high stakes over time. Our best bet as a rival is PSU; the Red-headed Stepchild Jug or something.
  9. agree. I'm impressed with Walter's ability to learn new tricks. He's much more athletic than I thought--having a rep as a 6-10 3 pt specialist will do that to you--and he's really done a good job of getting outside of his comfort zone this season. ultimately he may make Billy D regret losing him, which would be a huge plus. We already have A&M crying in their beer over Petteway. The only reason A&M would cry over him is because he talked his best friend Mike Evans into leaving for the NFL. I bet those folks in Lubbock might cry over him, but not into their beers, it's a dry county. ha! thanks for the correction, however oblique.
  10. maybe you missed the deal with his knee? he can and has made that shot, but he's been battling knee problems most of the season. It's rare that you completely heal up during the year, so maybe--again, maybe--it was a problem tonight. But he can make that shot regularly. He did last year.

  12. be nice to Lil' Red. He does a lot of hospital visits for both kids and adults and is a great ambassador for the school. so he looks like one of those satanically possessed dolls from some obscure rural carnival, but is that really enough to condemn him, I ask you?
  13. you guys need to get an HHC sign and get that up for those of us living out of town. that would be awesome.
  14. maybe we're watching different games, but Shavon's had problems finishing at the rim all year. He doesn't have the jump to get over or past more athletic and bigger defenders, so he needs to get them out of position. He *has* to be a threat to hit from mid-range to do that. And that was clearly an offense we were running for him tonight, which is why he got the number of shots he did get. Coach has it going on. He knows we need more than just Terran doing all the scoring.
  15. well, if you noticed in the second half we were springing Shavon for that 12-15 foot shot against their D. He was just clanking them, most of them short, which made me wonder if we were back to the knee problem again. There's clearly been an effort to get him open from that range to compensate for him getting stuffed going to the hoop. He gets that shot, it'll open up a better driving lane on shot fakes for him, and I expect to see that as his basic offensive game next year.
  16. lol @Royal. He's actually been pretty supportive of the new coach, but maybe that is why he's not posting. or maybe he finally had to get a life. Either way. You gotta wonder, though, if he'd be here if we were sucking the life out of the universe. Honestly, I hope the guy's doing okay and just gone because he has better things to do finally.
  17. good card, Dave. hope we can find that big man we desperately need, although with Pitch showing some quick learning ability, we may survive not getting one for next year, especially if Les heals up. this is great stuff. We're 2-1 against the Hoosiers since we joined! How cool is that?
  18. he did shoot the ball tonight. and missed most of them. 4 of 11 maybe? when you do that, you tend to start passing the ball. he did finish pretty well, though, so there's that.
  19. this is why I wanted the PSU game so bad. To have a 4 game win streak stopped in Ann Arbor instead of our wonderful 2 game streak. We match well with the Fighting Hugh Jackmans, but they should win this one.
  20. damn, this is awesome! our first B1G winning streak!!
  21. so, first team to start playing like Syracuse wins this conference I think. Zone is king.
  22. JJ's lovin' this. Anytime Indy loses makes him happy.
  23. check out pitch. heh heh. awesome. man, that made my day.
  24. lol terran with the slam! yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. ooooh, redheaded cheerleader alert. meow.
