  1. Ya think. They have been shooting fouls since the 12 minute mark So have we, right? Unfortunately we've had calls go against our two best guys. Ugh. it wasn't about free throws, but about call quality. i should've been more clear.
  2. Ya think. They have been shooting fouls since the 12 minute mark maybe i should've drawn a picture.
  3. radio making it sound like refs are having a big impact on the game.
  4. #&*$^%^$*^#* *ANother* ESPNU game! doggone. another radio game. This is the worst tv season I can remember.
  5. gotta have this one. let's get it and end the bubble nightmares.
  6. Smart approach. This should be as big an event as we can make it. Good for both teams, both schools and the state. I'm for anything that makes basketball fashionable again in primary schools.
  7. yep. playing as the favorite is rarefied air for us, and this week will be a test of that. we're used to ambushing people. we're not used to being ambushed. this is a very dangerous week for us, both because of our historical baggage of suck under pressure and also because I think it's easy for our young guys to think they might be out of the woods right now. every team is looking for a breather week to get a break from the grind, and the teams that do that are losing games.
  8. at this point, any team stupid enough to overlook any opponent deserves the loss. Everyone knows how shaky homecourts have been for everyone, and every coach is reminding their teams before every game that you can't overlook anyone anymore. So if you do, expect the L. If we do it this week, we'll also fall victim. Both teams have already beat us, so I have to believe we won't take anyone for granted at this point.
  9. let's see if our guys can handle the other kind of press now. NU-66 PSU-61
  10. well, hell, in the interest of cherry picking results, we led UAB at half, and coulda beat UMass, too! I don't mind the Michigan loss. they were the better team that night, led comfortably most of the way, and only a ferocious comeback made it close when they stopped playing hard. It was a hard loss, but a just result. The PSU game is the only one I can point to as a true regret game. And I still regret it. That loss is haunting us right now.
  11. Sorry, I was just kidding around.
  12. ha! Izzo tossing us a bone. Great guy.
  13. who down votes this post? I mean, do you down vote the tv guide when it tells you what's on? gave you a compensation up arrow. you should now appear "normal".
  14. That has us easily in the dance, IMO. Sadly, I don't think it does at all. If you look at the resumes of the other bubble teams, we're low in comparison. And there's precedence for this going back to last season with Iowa. Too soft a schedule, not enough good wins, and they were bypassed by a team one place below them in the standings. That will get us a look, but nothing more. We need 5 wins. We need 19 wins. Iowa's non conference SOS last year was 212. Ours is 111. Iowa had 9 wins in conference. We would have 10. Iowa was 2-8 in true road games last year. We would finish 2-9. Iowa's best road win was against 164 Northwestern. Ours is number 18 Michigan State. You can't compare us to Iowa last year. Every year is different. The minimum we could do is win all our home games, but every game from here on out is winnable. for the love of god, the point I made was surely unmissable. it was a very simple statement: conference placement doesn't guarantee you placement in the tourney. Iowa was a recent *example* of that. There was no direct comparison made whatsoever, in any way, shape fashion or form. thanks for your consideration.
  15. This could be the biggest week of the last decade plus for this program. As a Husker fan, I'm conditioned to expect a collapse. But I have a feeling that this time really might be different. They get these two games, and we're going into territory we haven't been in since this board began. It's pretty wild what an epic upset can do for you. Someday I hope games like today are the norm, not the once every 15 years exception.

  17. anyone who picked us to win was on crack or desperate for a big showing in the HHC challenge. We haven't done this in 17 years. I'm not eating crow on this. I will, however, dance the biggest happy dance my spine can handle. Oh wait, I've already done that!
  18. our overall record still holding us back, so I'll be joining in this after we hit about 16 wins. In the meantime, this win is glorious on its own terms we need to get that win total up and probably another ten spots in the rpi before we're a serious bubble threat.
  19. yeah, for the last 17 frigging years!!!!!!!!!!! woo hoo!
  20. holy poop!!!!! 45 seconds away from biggest upset in 17 years!!! woo hoo!
