  1. woo hoo! actually, you're a year early. and it was already legal for me, anyway... (medical!). Problem is, VA says no can do since state law is apparently optional now. On a lighter note, the btn feed sucks for the money it costs. Man, so much to learn about this team and the players. I feel like I'm watching a pickup Div 2 game on ESPN 47.
  2. Ahh, the comforts of returning to an old tradition after a lengthy hiatus. Nice pick with Ringo, cip. Just remember to mentaly stash away Iron Maiden's Run to the Hills when the panic button goes down later in the season. If anything to make me laugh (and is there truly a higher purpose than that?). Now to find this game....
  3. Well, here's a wild butt guess. NU-74 Southern-61
  4. Dead on, here. If walk ons are taking even a single minute from a scholly player, they need to move. Rivers should be better than that, at least talent wise, and if he's not, he needs to pack. I think we'll see quite a bit of him, though. If anything by default. I'm trying really hard to not look at this schedule. It's frightening.
  5. Have we ever had a weaker starting five in the last dozen or so years? Or the last 30?
  6. I find myself thinking about the players that this kind of thing screws over, ie., the ones that have to go play on the sacrificial altar of a surrendered season. Imagine walking into a season knowing your team's best players aren't even suiting up, even if most of the reasons are obviously transfer rules issues. But the one guy that *can* come help out doesn't because he thinks, unlike the rest of the lambs, that he should have a shot at a better team has to be hard. That's just my personality, though. If my teammates could use me and I'm actually available, then I go regardless of what that might mean for me personally. Must be getting old...
  7. 1. Billups 2. Minor 3. Manning 4.Reeves 5. Smith
  8. Wow, 216. That's pretty awful. If Miles can coach half as good as he can socialize, we might be able to squeak into the 150-160 range.
  9. I think Ubel's the MVP, hands down. But he's going to be busy doing everything else to win games and scoring won't be the highest priority (but it will still be a big deal for him). Talley's only game is scoring. Almeida won't play enough minutes, and the wild card is Gallegos, who has the talent to score but only that. I figure you have to go with the person who has actually scored on good teams, and that's Talley. I just don't see Gallegos as having made a quantum leap in gameplay since his last appearance.
  10. Same problem as Doc. Run and get destroyed. Slow down and stay in it. Doc was never able to shake off the typecasting. I hope Miles treads carefully there.
  11. talleys' definitely the safe pick. and probably the only pick.
  12. I can't do worse than last year. 8-5 non conf 2-16 conf 10-21. Love to see us get double digit wins this season.
  13. I think Brandon's once again going to be tasked with so much of the dirty work needed to be competitive that I don't think well see a breakout offensive year from him. But if this turns out to be true, I hope every fan gives him the respect he deserves for always putting the team and the program first. I am truly glad he plays for Nebraska.
  14. Normally I'd agree with this, but the reality is that in a lot of places, high schools are barely functional and the AAU system literally replaces a neglected high school system. It all depends on where you're at. In Chicago, the AAU is probably a net positive all things considered. That said, I might agree with you when discussin places like, say, S. Sioux City.
  15. soooo.....anyone got any cute cat pictures?
