another game where we have good starting energy. this is really good to see. now let's just go on a 30-2 run

2 for 1's mean two very short possessions, and when you're not shooting for crap--and Iowa was our worst shooting game of the season--short possessions might not be in your interest. This seems like an Xbox kind of thing, where it's ideal for a controlled and predictable environment. But I'd rather have my team take the time to try and get a quality shot on a single possession than rush for two empty possessions, which also leave your opponent with a full clock to try to score on their terms.

I just checked CNN to see if Dave B was getting perp walked outta HHC HQ.

Re: Pitch, I think it's pretty clear he *is* working on his post game, or were we watching different games Tuesday? I'm guessing if you look at his first few weeks of tape and his last couple weeks, you might see some differences that are beginning to show on the floor. I'm beginning to think Miles is dropping the "big guy short" bomb daily to light a fire under Walter to motivate him to learn a bit faster. Pitchford's really behind on his post skill set, so this won't be a fast project. But I'm pretty sure he's not just being accepted as the player he wants to be on his terms, either.

realtime's good for morale, but that's about it. It loves SoS above and beyond the call of duty. We're making progress, and in solid chunks. That's all I care about. 150 to 120 to now in double digits. That's concrete improvement, but this time, we're getting better AND younger, which is something we just hadn't been doing.

tai's shots will eventually fall. he's turning it around a bit right now, even if slowly. I like that Miles is hanging in there with him.

We played within 10 on the road against a ranked, quality team. Sure, Iowa wasn't all that sharp tonight, and I think they may have fallen asleep a bit after the large lead, but we held our own. Had we shot anything close to our average tonight, we're probably all celebrating in here.

Well, I gotta admit I gave up on the guys too early tonight. They did their best. Kids aren't going to be freshmen and sophomores forever.

Seems like Ray's just having hell with the concept of "role player". He's so engaged when he's chucking them up, but when he's not, like an empty uniform.

and as hard as they worked getting back, they're back to doing al the things that got 'em buried in the first place. that's experience. we'll hopefully learn. like he UMass game right now.

good news front: two brutal road games in a few days, and our guys came to play hard for both, so that's a plus. and hey, we're under 10! so it's not all bad.

when it comes to who plays and who doesn't, I'm clueless as to Miles' methods. Rivers is practically banished and hanging in the exile condo with Vooch. Other guys he lets play through crapitude.

well, sadly, folding like cheap laundry. credit iowa, too. they're defending really well. i've learned to hate the first two weeks of the conference schedule in the B1G.
