  1. I am curious how the new-comers looked? I would assume White could play in this game, sinc eit is basically a practice?
  2. I dont think he is on the team anymore. He isnt listed on the roster and wasnt on the live practice feed.
  3. Colorado State transfer Jon Octeus commits to Purdue By Jon Rothstein | CBS Sports October 8, 2014 6:00 pm ET Colorado State transfer Jon Octeus said that he has committed to Purdue and will be eligible immediately for the entire 2014-15 season. Octeus initially committed to UCLA after graduating from Colorado State but didn't get into the Bruins' graduate school program. A 6-4 guard, Octeus averaged 13.4 points and 4.7 rebounds last season. He'll likely compete for Purdue's starting point guard spot with sophomore Bryson Scott. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24744081/colorado-state-transfer-jon-octeus-commits-to-purdue
  4. Also rocking the Nebraska shirt as well!!! Congrats to Ali and his wife! The kid is destined to end up in New Zealand.
  5. This fills me with happiness and joy. Can 2015 and beyond not be anymore exciting... White III, Watson, Morrow... HOOORRRAAAAYYY!
  6. Double commitment would be ok with me....
  7. Well we are doomed now... Pack it up folks! We dont have a chance now!
  8. Kid seems to be crossing all his T's and dotting all his I's and that doesnt bug me one bit. So often these days you see a kid commit after only one visit, and then he un-commits and recommits... Andrew has been quiet and thorough... he strikes me as a Miles guy.. someone who thinks things through and I bet Miles is allowing him the space he needs to make a well thought out decision. I want him to be N, but i also want to be for sure he is N and not just "caught up" in the moment.
  9. I would love to get this kid, and would hope he was just retweeting the UNLV fans to mess around... But if he was actually retweeting them because he didnt like his OV, that is not cool. I get he is an 18 year old, but just because something isnt a great fit, doesnt give you the right to disrespect that school. Might be nothing, but still.
  10. If the biggest problem he has with Lincoln is the weather, we can handle that. Lincoln isnt Vegas. I agree. We are not as much fun. The weather isnt warm. The girls might not be as pretty(i disagree and think midwest girls are the best).. but last time i checked, that isnt what his #1 focus should be. Nebraska is a place to get an education and best set himself up for the future. A place to become a better person and basketball player. I wouldnt want distractions like Vegas. Or a roster so stacked with 5-stars that i never got a look. I understand wanting to earn your time, but that chance is greater here at Nebraska. Plus, if i was a parent. I wouldnt want him in Vegas where even a good kid can have issues. I hope he picks what is best for his education and basketball future. If he feels like those are better at UNLV or Wake.. then by all means make the move. I wont hate on a kid for that. But dont pick UNLV because it is fun or the weather is warm... those things wont matter in 5 years after you graduate.
  11. Coach Miles just gets what it takes to do things the right way. This was such a small action but look at the news it has been getting.. We are lucky to have him.
  12. Whoa. For comparison's sake, I can also grab a rib standing flat footed. If the rim is 7'6" high. Auto-correct just made me hungry. and also made me concerned if i ever have ribs with D'jery that he will be able grab them from far away.
  13. Tough loss ut gotta think the coaches eased off a little with the ankle injury and that rubbed him the wrong way. If he was here against Wiscy, i think he would have been ours.
  14. I dont get this... Petteway will play the 2. With Ayegba being added... I think we see a lot more of Pitch at the 4. Shields at the 3. Petteway at the 2. Not saying Moses starts but even if they were to start Pitchford at the 5, then i think you see Rivers at the 4 and Shields at 3/ TP at 2.
  15. Not a whole lot.. cant hear parts of the interview because the guy doesnt know how to work a microphone and Jordan speaks quietly. He said he thinks he would like to have a decision near the end of the month.
  16. This isnt good for us at all. I think if we get him to campus, we will have a chance but he seems to be getting hot and heavy with Wake Forest--judging by who he re-tweets.
  17. Would surprise me considering A) he said he was deciding between a Final 4 of UCLA, SMU, us and FSU. and these are official visits so location doesn't really play a big factor as it isn't on his own dime. Might as well throw out an offer for Tarin Smith to be thorough. Does Cornish have his other trips to UCLA, SMU, or FSU planned yet? Let me go on the record as saying if he doesn't commit this weekend, he's not coming here Time to get 500 of our prettiest co-eds to make some signs when he shows up.
  18. Cornish will be here Saturday and Sunday.
  19. Deng Deng coming here this weekend: http://www.omaha.com/article/20140425/HUSKERS/140429123/1001#huskers-set-sights-on-juco-forward-deng-new-orleans-wing-cornish LINCOLN — Nebraska, with two men's basketball scholarships still open for the coming season, apparently has its immediate sights on junior college forward Deng Deng and high school wing Jordan Cornish. Deng is a 6-foot-8, 214-pound sophomore at Lee (Texas) College. He committed a year ago to LSU, but instead played a second year of junior college ball. Cornish, a 6-6, 215-pound senior at Brother Martin High in New Orleans, signed a letter of intent with Tennessee in November. But after the Volunteers changed coaches earlier this month, Cornish was released and re-opened his recruiting. Deng is scheduled to visit Lincoln this weekend. His first official visit was Wednesday and Thursday at Baylor, the team that defeated Nebraska in the second round of this season's NCAA tournament. On Friday afternoon, Deng tweeted: “Much love for the Bears family for having me on campus, I really had a great time.'' Deng was born in Sudan. His family fled to Egypt, then eventually settled in Melbourne, Australia, where he gained citizenship. Nebraska assistant Chris Harriman, who is from Australia, is the lead recruiter on Deng. This week, cbssports.com listed Deng as one of the nation's top five remaining juco players available. In a Feb. 1 game against Region 14 favorite San Jacinto (Texas) College, Deng had 37 points and 15 rebounds. He also had 28 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Blinn College. In a Feb. 26 rematch with San Jacinto, Deng suffered a broken ankle. He eventually underwent surgery, which forced him to miss a scheduled visit to Nebraska on March 8-9 for the Wisconsin game. Lee College coach Roy Champagne made the following remarks to the New Orleans Times-Picayune when Deng committed to LSU: “We ask our guys to be able to do everything, and Deng can. He's got great passing skills, he can handle the ball and he can shoot. He can do the things at all five positions that need to get done.'' As for Cornish, Nebraska is trying to arrange an official visit. He told Tennessee Sports Radio this week that he plans to visit NU, SMU and UCLA, and will likely make a decision in the next three weeks. Cornish, who averaged 20.9 points in high school, said he also has scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Florida State, Wake Forest and Richmond. When first recruited, he picked Tennessee over Oklahoma, Purdue, UTEP and Virginia Commonwealth. New Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall told Cornish he was still wanted, but Cornish favors coach Cuonzo Martin, who left for California. “I signed to play for coach Martin,'' Cornish said. “I'm sorry how all this turned out. Vols Nation will always be in my heart.''
  20. Why would blue Jay fans be upset? They will be wearing Husker stuff... Just like they do during football season...
  21. ...and let's be honest, he was either destined for Cornell or the Land of Corn. We will gladly take him. (Sorry for the cornish joke ) We dont mind you being corny.
  22. Excellent read.. I am rooting for her even more now. Thanks for sharing this. Kind of cool to see the non-major sports get some great stories like this.
  23. Look how long his arms are. I see how he has over a 7 foot wing span. Where are his leg hairs?? His muscles ate them.
  24. just walk around with tanning oil greasing up? I love being able to have Pitchford play the 4. You can put him with Ayegba and takes a lot of pressure off him defensively as well. I want to see a mixture of: Ayegba/Pitchford/Shields/Petteway/Parker or Pitchford/Rivers/Shields/Webster/Petteway if we are going for speed. I want to see what Fuller can do before i put him in there. Would be great to add Deng Deng and Cornish.
