  1. 7'2 guy with some nice athleticism... Dont mind if we do. If Max signs on, i dont stop recruiting this kid... Cutting a schollie isnt an easy thing to do, but you keep all options open and try and get creative.
  2. I feel like there would be some more smoke, but doesnt seem to be much around this kid. Not sure if that is good or bac, but i think a lot will be telling based on where Max ends up. If he goes to somewhere other than NU or Indiana, I think we cooled on him... and that makes me think Noah is a possibility. That being said, i still see Noah being a HUGGGEEE longshot and would be honestly shocked if he even visits here.
  3. I hadnt heard that. Just checked and the beat writer for the Wolves Jon Krawczynski had a tweet that says: "FWIW: just told hoiberg and Wolves rumors are untrue. Flip and Fred are tight but Flip is coaching next year" Not sure if that is much more than a smoke screen or "playing the game" I think the wolves would 100% take Hoiberg or Thibs if he leaves Chi-town. I would also be happy if the Wolves took Izzo... Imagine if both Hoiberg and Izzo ran to the NBA.... Wont happen with Izzo, but that would be nice for the 'skers.
  4. Forged in the fires of Mount Doom, chiseled from solid marble by Zeus himself, two sinewy behemoths, Max Bieldfeldt's calves. Is there anymore room in Nebraska for fake/parody accounts?
  5. Purdue is working their way back up. It is good for the B1G to see them back near the top. AJ Hammons coming back is huge for them. Gotta think Purdue will be somewhere near the top. I think Maryland might win the league running away, but Purdue isnt far off.
  6. It will be a new challenge for him. Location wise, you are now having to convince kids to come to the midwest compared to Florida. That being said, B1G>>>>>> SEC. Plus right now he can sell playing time if he focuses on bigs. In terms of contacts, combined with what we already have, we are going to be bringing in some talent in areas that is rich with it. I still think that if you can get a kid to Lincoln, Nebraska, you have a lot better luck than many would think. It is a great campus, awesome facilities and isnt in the middle of nowhere like a Manhattan Kansas.
  7. And that is what i am selling to Noah. Dont you want to join 2 other pretty good recruits and help build something? Then you add a guy like Shields and White to the mix... and we are a pretty athletic team
  8. So very cryptic or Big East.
  9. He misspelled Nebraska.....
  10. and he is like 14 years old..... good lord. even if he somehow doesnt grow anymore.. holy hell.
  11. If Illinois shows interest he will probably end up there, but chance to play some decent minutes has to make him give NU an extra look. I wouldnt hate this move, but also doesnt have me jumping up and down.
  12. Probably better for all parties to move on... I think he would have been an intriguing B1G prospect if he were a traditional transfer. That way he would have a season to assimilate into the team concept at Nebraska. Oh well, guess it doesn't appear that he & NU were meant to be together. Totally agree. I guess it's on to Plan B or whatever plan we're on now. I think we are waaay past plan B.. I think we have switched over to different preparations... I think we are now on to preparation H.
  13. Harris/someone who can play right away is a must with Gill being added and having to sit out a year. Need someone who can play.
  14. So, does this mean we are getting Akoy as well? *I am only kidding....
  15. YES YES YES YES! MIIILLLEEESSS!!!!! 2 years to play after 1 year of sitting.
  16. I dont think this kid is that big of a swing and miss. Ok player but not season changer.
  17. Scott Winter was a professor of mine at Nebraska. He is no longer at nebraska, but i am excited to read this book. He taught a class on Sports writing, and so i have high expectations.
  18. Someone who made the Crayon fans cry??? Ya, i will take him. Doubt we do. Adding a PG would be nice but with the signing of Bakari, i think we are probably somewhat "set" at PG with Parker/Watson/Evelyn. Like others said, if he is willing to pick up our phone call, i am ok making the call.. If we are going to go small, might as well go all out.
  19. I think Petteway was awesome for us, but the NBA is a different beast. I think Petteway will be in the D-league for a bit and then end up in europe. I think he will do well overseas. Lance Jeter has had a nice career overseas.... Petteway can be an elite player in one of those leagues.
  20. Interesting 30 for 30. Felt a little bit like Sonny had to write off on everything and wouldnt take blame for his part in ruining the college game or admit he was basically scum. Not the best 30 for 30, but it did shine a light on corporate involvement with "Amateur" athletes and how main decision makers in these kids lives were basically getting paid lots of money to put kids in different sneakers. The Lebron deal at the end was very interesting. Imagine how things could have changed for Adidas if they signed LeBron.
  21. I guess i dont get why some kids wouldnt want to come here. You are given a blueprint to basically get a ton of playing time. You play in an elite conference... Look at Frank Kaminsky... The dude is going to the NBA.... He worked his way up... got playing time because of a light depth chart. Nebraska has struggled at getting big men in here.. and i just dont get why... it is so frustrating.
  22. Gotta think they are in love with personality and work ethic. Maybe they think if they can get a kid in with the measurables, the right attitude and the drive, they can turn him in to something special.
  23. I think Roby will move up as the year goes on, similar to Morrow... I think he has the talent and is still maturing that he will be a great steal for us when it is all said and done.
  24. Give him a helmet and get him in scarlet and Cream.
