    OT: A Sad Day

Bob Brown passed away. A great, great Husker. I don't remember him as a Husker, but I watched him with pride when he was a Raider. So sad he was at Memorial Stadium with him whose name will never be spoken. Former Nebraska Star, NFL Hall Of Famer Dead At 81 (msn.com)

  2. I've seen this kid's video. He gets knocked down. Then he gets up again. You're never gonna keep him down. It's quite remarkable, actually.

  3. I've never watched a six man game. In my four years of playing 8 man, I don't think we ever kicked a PAT. We only tried one FG, and that was at the end of the first OT in the state championship game against Madrid/Wheatland. I was the holder. We missed and lost the game in double OT. First OT game in football in Nebraska history.

  6. Huggins arrested for DUI in Pittsburgh blowing .21. I wonder if enough is enough at West Virginia and wonder if any of their players would ask out. We could be in decent position with two current scholarships if so.

  8. I will not be able to find the source material, but I remember back at the time, the LJS put out the data from athletic testing and Mikki had one of the best vertical leaps on the team. Like a standing vertical of somewhere in the mid-30s. To go along with his 6'11 frame and long arms. And the reason he hung around the NBA for awhile is he turned himself into a solid mid-range jump shooter. Given his length and vertical, I used to say it'd be fun to see Tom Osborne use him in goal line situations. Can you imagine a 7 ft tall slot receiver with good hands and solid leaping ability drawing defenders to the back of the end zone for a jump ball? Fewer defenders to stop the QB keeper. Pick your poison. But it never happened. Shame.

Yeah, Mikki finished at NU at 6'-11" 220#... as I had to look it up what weight he started at Nebraska, which was 6'-11" 195#. He played 87 min. in 14 games as a true FROSH. Danny Nee wanted to redshirt him, but I guess Mikki still stayed 4 years. Mikki scored 31 points his first year and still almost finished with 1,000 points for his NU career. He was very effective as a SENIOR, averaging 11.7 pts 7.4 reb. His final 2 years at NU, he shot 58.4% each year and around 70% on FT. Amazing that Mikki Moore played a lot of NBA basketball; and he played for a lot of teams, too.

  10. When Mikki got here he was listed 6’10” 180. I could not believe Nee didn’t redshirt him to develop his body. That was when Big Country and Ostertag were in the league…they literally had 100 lbs on him. If my memory serves me correctly (far from a sure thing) he played a total of 18 minutes that year. By the time his body matured he was a force. One of my all time favorites.
