Mast is a dude. And the game change when the Governor came in and shut down Pope.

I know where Henderson and York are. York used to be a class b power in football a couple of years ago. Henderson produced Steve Ott in the 90’s and Chad Buller was a walk on in the early 2000’s

John Kroeker was from Henderson. He was a beast on the football field in H.S., set all kinds of records... He became a punter at NU.

I had the pleasure of coaching John for a couple years of Legion Baseball in Hampton.  Henderson doesn't have a Legion.  Well, they have legions of Mennonites, but that's a different story....  Anyway, great athlete and a great attitude.  We could have used him last night in the punting game.

Henderson used to be like class C-2 and now I think they are 8 man or 6 man

Yeah, Henderson is technically now called Heartland (after merging with nearby Bradshaw), and they do compete in D-1 football. They were a good football team back in the 1980s, especially when John Kroeker basically did everything for them in the early 80s.

Yeah, Kroeker was great at basically any sport he played. Great guy, too.

My brother reffed Henderson football back then and said there was so much air in the "punt" footballs that they were almost round.

Funny thing is that I remember that, too. They were little piggies. 😅

Could not agree more. He is one of the best people you would ever have a chance to know.

Mast and Brice were pretty impressive about how cerebral they are. Heck, Mast was listing off centers he knows he going to face going forward.

Having taught undergrads (ages 18-21) and grad students (ages 22-30), I know that Fred must be thrilled to have actual mature adults in the locker room, in meetings, at press conferences, etc. Makes life so much easier.

That's a team right there. A team that could do some things 🤔

Incredible effort by the team.  Fun to watch.  A few quick thoughts:

    1. Williams really showed what he can be for this team.  Great game and effort.  He even had some tough offensive rebounds and put-backs in heavy traffic.  Wasn't sure he had that in him, still not sure he can do it consistently, but it was nice to see.

    2.  Rienk is so steady and reliable.  Keep it up big fella

    3.  Gary continues to be a beast on the boards and at the rim.  Don't really love him shooting so many threes each game tho.  One or two is okay if he is wide open, but it not, please move the ball and try to find an open look for a better shooter like Keisei

    4.  Speaking of Keisei, he played a very controlled game, didn't try to do too much.  With that said, I still feel this team does not work hard enough to get him good looks and at times almost seems to avoid passing him the ball.  This team is a better scoring team, and Keisei doesn't have to carry as much of a load as late last season, but he still is our best shooter and he should be shooting at least 5 threes per game, and sometimes much more.  There is absolutely no reason Juan Gary should be shooting more 3s than Keisei

    5.  Still don't like that bench lineup of Boogie, Sam, CJ, Gary and Allick.  Yes, I acknowledge they provided a little spark in the first half.  But most of that was on defense, and other than Sam's 3 ball and circus layup, they still struggled to score.  And for the second game in a row, in the 2nd half, the starters came out gang-busters and built a nice cushion, and then that bench lineup quickly gave it all back.  That bench lineup really, really struggles to score, and if another team gets hot while it is on the floor, the game could be over before the starters get back in the game.

    6.  Allick provides incredible energy and effort.  But if the game is on the line, I want Gary in the game at PF.  In a close game, the "end of game" lineup should be: JL, Keisei, Brice, Gary, Mast.

    7. Can someone post the box score with the player's +/- again?

Nebraska has hit the jackpot on portal pickups these past 2 seasons. It's refreshing to watch grown men who are mature make the plays to win games. They're exceptional young men in Williams & Mast. Same can be said for Greisel and Bandoumel.

Enjoyed hearing what Wayne Tinkle had to say about this ballgame. It's very encouraging, especially since he's coached an Elite 8 team not that long ago... Nebraska has some good pieces to play great ball. Let's keep it rollin'! GBR
