Okay we are currently 6th. Do the top 8 go to Omaha?

Correct 8 teams...we were the last team in last year with 9 wins. We SHOULD at the very least make it to Omaha despite the poor play from recent weeks. The Big Ten is not near as good this year as it was last year so just about any team in Omaha should have a chance to win.

Okay so we need to play for seating now. We need to get a favorable first round, because I would think that us getting any where in the Big Tourny would be based on that first game.

We don't seem to have the pitching depth or quality right now to come out of the losers bracket type of deal.

Can we count on one hand how many times a SP has pitched over 5 innings this season?

Being serious bc I can't recall too many outings where they did.

 

 

I counted 11 games...and quite a few of those pitchers did not make it out of the sixth.  Thus, the "quality starts" is incredibly low.  It's no wonder why guys like Eddins and Chestnut are starting to wear down.

Hope Boldt can pull out of a massive slump.

 

Hitting with runners on base would be a nice BOOST for the entire team. That 11th inning last night NU did it with a 4-spot after going 10 innings & 1 measly run.

 

Haven't made a habit of quality run production much lately. Pitching could be more consistent, too. But, hey, I'm an equal opportunity problem-solver. ;)

The pitchers need to find consistency. Max seems to be in line for a weekend start. He has pitched well, his last few outings. Derek pitches well, and then pitches poorly. King gets lit up by Michigan, and then pitches great against K-State. We need these guys to pitch decent each time out.

Burkamper goes 8 in NU's 6-1 win tonight over NSU.

Much needed performance by Burkamper. The bull pen is extremely shallow this weekend and with 5 games next week we have to get good outing from out starters.
