Didn't deserve to win this one.

Basically lost because of too many missed shots. Iowa was very beatable.

Horrible shooting. Very few drives to the basket.

No rebounding at all...NO ONE hustles to the ball. RB wouldn't be enough to fix the lack of team hustle rebounding. That's all rebounding is....hustle.

Missing Maddie, RB43 and Ostrander probably did make a difference.

Offense is so slow operating in the half court it puts me to sleep.  We didn't hardly even try to set up a open guard for a 3 shot.

There were quite a few fouls that weren't called against Iowa. Guess you should foul until the ref starts calling them. They traveled a lot too....no calls.

Iowa contests all the shots...we don't usually....not sure what all that means..but..we shot poorly.

dang !!!

Sorry for the whining .....was RB43 on the bench ?

imo, we now are seeing how smith leaving really hurt. not to mention the "other" debacle.

need blackburn and simon to get healthy. depth is gone right now. period. really looking at starting out 0-3.

anyone think theriot may be having problems? as in foot?

coach was pretty much up in the air about RB43 during postgame interview. really could sense the disappointment in her voice. she knew this was a game they needed---even if it is only the first one.

We got out-hustled like I've never seen in a long time. I think we need to have Natalie and Rachel change positions and have Natalie bring the ball up. When she brings it up, she hustles up the court with it and Rachel walks it up. Got to rebound the ball better than that or it'll be a long season. 51-29 deficit in rebounding won't cut it in many leagues if any. Missed way too many bunnies underneath the bucket, had we hit a couple of them it may have been a different story. Very disappointing loss to say the least.

Hated to see them gloat on our court after the game. Let's hope the Huskers never let that happen again!

On a couple of preseason posts I said that I thought Simon would start at the 3 position by the start of conference.  Most men and women's teams like to have an athletic player there that has size and can hit some outside shots.  But the most important aspect is to be able to defend against the other teams player at that position.  The big ten has many skilled 3 players and unless Clark can offset her size disadvantage there by great outside shooting we will struggle until Simon is healthy and back in game shape.  She will also help us in rebounding which today was a debacle (-22).  We had a size advantage at the post positions but Havers being a 6'5" junior should dominate especially on the defensive boards but doesn't seem to show enough consistent intensity.  The other sad statistic was bench scoring.  Iowa completely dominated.

I don't think there is any question that Rachel is not 100%.   She is toughing it out but it's obvious she isn't right.  Saw it on a loose ball today, and generally she is struggling to get any lift on her shot.

To me it looked like Havers was hurting today. She wasn't trying for rebounds what so ever

It didn't just seem to be only Havers. It's kind of apparent your 6-5'er should get rebounds...but no one else was consistently going after rebounds either...several times I was shouting at the computer screen... to get the loose ball...just no hustle.

Seemed like the team just wasn't into the game...not competitive. Almost like we're lost out there because of the missing bench players.....who knows ?

If you watched Iowa, when a shot went up, they all collapsed into the key....so they all rebound....we as a team we just don't do that. Sorry, but that's just coaching.
