Big question... I look at our schedule and wonder if we will make a bowl.  I do not see 4 more wins.

We'd be in an okay spot right now if NCAA changed the rules to only being 59 minute games. ;)

What's with all the 'down' arrows lately, Fever?  I accidentally gave you one but immediately followed with an 'up' arrow in the very same topic... Seems strange to me; perhaps I'm too sensitive.

Only need 5 wins if there is not enough 6 win teams.

Nope, it's a minimum of 6-6, or possibly 6-7 teams that play in a league title game. Unless a 5-7 team wins their conference, it's not happening...

this is getting bad. if the o'brien kid isn't the real deal, riley will be gone after year 3. and probably eichorst too.

Eichorst's fate is definitely tied to Riley.  If it doesn't work out, he will not be allowed to hire Riley's replacement.   Harvey is done on 6/30/16 so a new Chancellor would have a new AD make the pick.    If the sellout streak ends, that will get the attention of the new Chancellor and regents.

I do not think this will ever happen... but I could be wrong

Ever is a long time (ask my wife how long "forever" is  ;) ).  If the free-fall continues, the streak will be in serious jeopardy.  Corporate donors can prop it up for awhile, but not for an extended period if we become Purdue and Illinois and Indiana in football.    Let's hope we don't.

I know of some corporate donors who used to plug holes in the dam that we know as the sellout streak who've notified the administration that they aren't in a position to continue picking up the tab for seats people aren't using.  So, if (when) we have extra seats to sell in the future in order to keep the streak alive, we're going to have to find new corporate partners willing to take one for the team.

From what I'm hearing is that there won't be enough 6-6 teams to fill all of the bowl games, so they bowls will fill out the roster with 5-7 team. Check it out. I could be wrong but the info comes from a very good source.

Normy was just having a little fun with the 'dead' thread theme.

I found this article from 2012 about 5-7 teams getting a bowl invite.http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/19719427/you-may-see-a-5-7-bowl-team-in-the-future

Good thing the NCAA sanctioned, I think, 5 more bowl games! ;)

I dont know which sports headline sounds worse....

"Nebraska (5-7) throws gutter ball and will not be bowling for the first time since ####"

or

"Nebraska one of the sexiest looking 5-7 teams looking to go bowling"

We're a long way from 5 wins.
