Sorry, I don't speak gibberish.  But by all means, please let me know what differences you are seeing in this years offense compared to last years?  Seeing that I haven't had the ability to attend a game yet.  What philosophical differences are there between Kirby and Bolt?

they actually weren't that bad. They did complain about the home plate ump, but they did do it for both teams, like when he went to ring up motion and then called it a ball on a LMU batter.

The Husker PBP guys said that the ump got that call right. They said that the ball was low.

I know but it was funny to see the guy start his as my son who umps calls it "the chainsaw" then kind of stop and call it a ball. Sinclaire didn't say much so I think it was the right call, but these young guys where all over blue. it was fun to listen to guys that are a long way from polished but try to make it fun. My favorite comment of the night was "Nebraska has a few players from Hutchinson JCC that is in Kansas, At least I think it is, yeah I think it is.". and that was just the play by play guy talking.:)

Will listen in again today, and watch the game in that "horrible" weather that they are having. "These cold weather tems come here to play in good weather and it is like 65 at first pitch.". " Yeah that is not what we usually have at this time."

I wanted to call up and say it is 12 here with windchill of 10-15 below zero and say they will be just fine playing in 65 and rainy.:)

I told my wife that they said it was cold there, she says what 50 boo hoo to them.

I think my favorite comment of the night was when Darby (if I recall) got a double from a hit that went back to the wall. The secondary commentator said something to the effect of "you know, you can really get a good hit when the pitcher throws it to your happy spot." Or maybe the time when their pitcher kept trying to pick off our basemen and the secondary color commentator said something to the effect of "Welmon (pitcher) has been trying to pick off the runner a lot this inning, I think he's trying to keep the base runner close."

Now I don't know their experience, or if he's a student broadcaster, so I really can't complain too much but it was comical at times nonetheless.

At times broadcasters of baseball can get a bit "Mr. Obvious" with their broadcasts.  It can be a tough sport given the pace and strategy of play.  I admite thier abilities.  Most try to keep it fresh and in doing so, oftentimes can a bit...well, comical.  When one goes back in time, there have been those that can tell a story with their description of play.  For example, I include Vin Scully putting the cap on the Sandy Koufax perfect game and a couple other cool "calls"

On the scoreboard in right field it is 9:46 p.m. in the City of the Angels, Los Angeles, California. And a crowd of twenty-nine thousand one-hundred thirty nine just sitting in to see the only pitcher in baseball history to hurl four no-hit, no-run games. He has done it four straight years, and now he caps it: On his fourth no-hitter he made it a perfect game. And Sandy Koufax, whose name will always remind you of strikeouts, did it with a flurry. He struck out the last six consecutive batters. So when he wrote his name in capital letters in the record books, that "K" stands out even more than the O-U-F-A-X.

NU winning 5-1 and 8-1 to close the weekend out strong. Too bad the 1st game was a 4-1 loss, but winning 2 out of 3 is all right this early in the season.

Winning series is the name of the game.  Marymount is predicted to be a NCAA team this year and I saw one college baseball writer had them has a CWS dark horse.  That will be a nice road series win by the end of the year.  It doesn't get any easier with A&M and LSU next weekend.  Going 2-1 next weekend would be really nice.

Looks like we are keeping the same rotation this weekend.  Sinclair, Kubat, Burkamper.  I think that is the right call.  Going 2-1 would be a really nice weekend for us.  A&M is 12-0 but really only has had one tough test...they are due for a loss.  Hopefully we see Sinclair bounce back.

Going 2-1 would get my very excited about the season. Tall task, though. The two pitchers that we are going against for A&M and LSU are studs... and this is assuming we get a win over Hawaii too, of course

0-3 would be disappointing but going 1-2 against this competition would not be surprising.  After this weekend we have 16 straight home games which I think we will and need to take advantage of.  I think we can win 11-12 games in that home stretch.
