Izzo outcoached Crean by TWENTY last night!

That Crean dude is really up and down, huh?  Outcoaching Miles by 5 here and then he turns around and gets outcoached by Izzo by 20 in the very next game.  He better get his act together and get more consistent or he'll by without a job before long.

Boy, Oliver Purnell just outcoached the living crap outta McDermott last night, eh?

Two words:  Em  Barrassing.

That was their best chance for a conference win all year.  Their next best chance is a home game against Butler in mid-February.

Wow.  Was not expecting that.

My guess is they beat Seton Hall on Saturday.  But they won't win very much after that.  Still not sure how we lost to them...they are turrrrrruble and I don't see them being a NCAA caliber team for the foreseeable future.  There were a few calling for Mac's head on twitter...a few more losses and the rest will jump on board.  As if they are North Carolina or something.

As for the losing to them thing, that's the most frustrating part.  Teams that live and die by the 3 like they do can jump up and bite anyone at any time, but when they're otherwise turrible it really hurts to lose to them.  And as I see it, what they do can hardly be called basketball, it's more just whip the ball around the perimeter and jack up 3's all day.  For the life of me I don't know how their fans can stand watching that crap night in and night out.

You've seen our offense, right?

Listen, I don't want to talk crap about Creighton until we manage to beat them for once.

So, instead of talking crap about them, I'll just reiterate that them losing at home to DePaul the way they did was a surprise to me.  I thought they were better than that.  They shot very well against us and that now appears to have been an aberration.

Pisses me off because it's not the first time it's happened where they've played over their heads to beat us.  Not saying it's luck but I am saying that they seem to bring their "A" game when they play us.  If they had played all season long as well as they played against us, they'd still be talking bubbles and potential seeding rather than about firing their coach.

Maybe it says something about their priorities when their best efforts appear to be reserved for us.

Silver, I was all prepared to gloat after we put up a W against them in December.  Only problem was we put up an L.  I am SICK of losing to those blue bastards.  And I use that term advisedly.  But, until we pick up a win in this series -- better yet a win in Omaha -- I think we have no business running any kind of smack.  So, until that time, I'll keep my comments limited to back-handed compliments and damning with faint praise.

Trust me, I'm not talking smack on the team at all.  They beat us and have scoreboard for yet another year and kudos to them...they obviously care more about this rivalry than we do still so they deserve credit for beating us.  And until we as fans, students, team, etc ALL start to foam at the mouth by just the sight of the color blue, they will still care more.  And probably continue to win.

I'm just saying that when you rely so damn much on the long ball, and as long as you don't have one (or more) of the nation's elite long range shooters on the team, you're going to have nights where you can't miss and can beat just about anyone (us and Oklahoma) and nights when you can't hit the ocean from the side of a boat and lose to pretty much anyone (Tulsa, DePaul, etc).

It just so happens that they got hot against us (and yes it's true some of that is probably on our team as much as it is them getting "lucky" or "hot" or whatever) and that is terribly unfortunate.

But I'll stand by my point that I don't consider jacking up 3's all night long to be anything more than a gimmick and really not my cup of tea.  It's a personal preference is all.  I prefer to watch players create off the dribble and pass into the post some too.  Sure, we jack up our share of 3's, but our offense isn't geared towards looking to shoot the 3 ball first and create off the offensive rebound second.  I shuddered just a little just typing that last part.  :)

Oh, and the delusional part?  Well, that's just my reaction to their fans who go from praising McD for being some sort of College Hoops genius that was revolutionizing the sport with his gimmick offense to now calling for his head after a few losses.  Spoiled rotten is another way to put it.

It was just the hashtag delusional part.  A small thing.

I'm not disagreeing with you on their offensive philosophy being a high risk-reward venture.  It obviously is and they're experiencing the effects of that in a brutal way right now.

But, talking about their fans and whatnot, until we get scoreboard, I'm just gonna shut my yapper about them.

Gotcha.

Well, I'm kind of on the opposite side of that I guess.  I figure players and coaches deserve the respect they earn in the games, but AFAIC fans are always fair game.  And honestly, I know it's just a very small subset of theirs (or any other fanbase) who deserve ridicule, but that speaks more to human nature than anything I suppose.  But I digress.

Mostly I'm glad to see Leslee and Moses back in the lineup.  I'm almost giddy today!  :D
