When the other team violates a rule and your team's coach points it out ...

If you either like your own coach or are indifferent about your own coach, you react with indignation over the brazen rule violation by the other team.

If you don't like your own coach, you whine that he's whining about a subtle or non-existent rule violation.

And, if you're just a d----- bag with no redeeming value as a message board poster, then you mock and criticize those who wax indignant about the brazen rule violation.

But, apparently, there is a rule against a defense trying to disrupt the offenses snap count or trying to put the ball in play.

And, here's a video, soooo ... you be the judge.

NU needs to win out to get to Indy so the Huskers can lay the smackdown on the Sparties.

I am not ready to hand the east crown to the spartans....to many people seem to be counting out osu.

I am not predicting sparty loses...but I am not ready to give them the crown either.

NU's goal should be to smack (week by week) whoever they see...then take care of business in Indy against whoever shows up.

There is no doubt MSU was doing it to disrupt our offense. But, it's something that should have been corrected after the first premature snap. I think we need to get rid of the clapping all together. It was obvious that MSU was getting a great jump on most snaps due to it.

I noticed a team on Saturday (Texas Tech Maybe??) that would have the quarterback put his hand down, clap, or do other things, but the only time the center snapped it was when the right guard (who was looking at the quarterback) touched the centers shoulder. Thought this was interesting.

Anyway, I think that it is pretty sad you have to resort to that. To me, that would be like baseball players yelling and screaming when a pitcher is throwing the ball. It is not illegal, but it a gentlemens thing, and it does happen every so often. I know that this is illegal, but how you prove it is beyond me. If Michigan State sticks to their story, then it will be tough to prove. Pretty bush league if you ask me, but some teams will win at all costs. Refs should of noticed it, and it should of been addressed.

And I listened to the audio of the conference call when Pelini was asked the question and he wasn't bitching or whining about it like a Bill Snyder would have back in the day.  He just made very brief reference to it as an explanation (and if you watch the above video, it's hard to argue that it didn't have some affect -- as I'm sure was intended) of what happened and how he was going to ask the league office to review it.

Nobody was whining.  Nobody was making excuses.  Something happened that we had some snaps that the QB wasn't ready for.  Whatever happened, there's going to be an explanation for it and when the coach gives the explanation, the only people who would jump all over the coach for answering a question is someone who hates the coach or just wants to be an ass.
