After a long off season, summer workouts, fall small group workouts, and limited team practices of 2 hours per week the real season begins today.  We will have some tired girls by Friday night would be my guess. I am sure they will work really hard these first couple weeks to try to get the new kids as up to speed as possible.

Looks like Kaylee Page has grew a little bit more in this picture and Brandi has that Marge Simpson thing going.  ;)  Getting anxious to see the new players perform.

The Nebraska Athletic Department invites fans to get their first look at the 2014-15 Husker men’s and women’s basketball programs, as the Huskers will host the Big Red Tip-Off at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Doors at Pinnacle Bank Arena open at 5:45 p.m. while the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with introductions of both teams. The Husker women will conduct a 15-minute scrimmage first before halftime festivities take place with a 3-point shooting contest between players from both teams, a dunk contest from the Husker men and a performance by the Scarlets. The Husker men will scrimmage for 15 minutes following halftime while the teams will have combined autograph session on the main concourse at the end of the event until 8:30 p.m. The men’s scrimmage will feature live commentary from Coach Miles, while Sports Nightly will broadcast its show during the 6 p.m. hour from Pinnacle Bank Arena.

what stood out to me was looking at havers, paige, and kalenta. my apologies if i screwed up that last name. anyway, at first glance, i thought "wow" paige and kalenta are right there with havers (height wise). photos can be deceptive though. as i looked closer, it appears havers may be a small step back. so, my guess is allie still has the height advantage. either way, they all look great! excited for the upcoming season!!! GBR!

The photo is from straight on....Page looks close to the same as Kalenta (who is supposed to be 6-3), and not too much shorter than Havers.

Cady is 6-2, and appears to be at least an inch shorter than Page.

So, now at least, Page must be real close to 6-3 ? ...and growing ? Her little sister was a bit taller last year in HS.....maybe they'll both grow some  more. :D

I agree except I think Page might actually be taller than Kalenta.

The height being distorted by perspective thing can be cleared up a little bit.

First of all, you can see the landmarks on the floor and know that they're all standing in basically a straight line.  The photo is being taken from slightly more right of center based on the half-court line being slightly to the left.  That makes Kalenta perhaps slightly closer to the camera and therefore should make her appear slightly taller.

Second, you can see the 10 ft baskets in the background are lower than the players' heads, indicating that camera is below the level of the players heads, thus giving an advantage to those who are closer.

Therefore, the landmarks on the floor and the position of the backboards along the back wall, you can make some assumptions that Page is, if anything, slightly taller than Kalenta and maybe just a bit shorter than Havers.

Cady is slouching a bit, but even if she stood up straight, I doubt she'd be as tall as Page, which is maybe why she's slouching -- so that it's not obvious she's shorter than Page.  But she clearly is.

Anyway, yeah, good looking group.  Very legit.
