Whoa, Silverback, your description sounds like my son-in-law!  Hmmmmm....  Kid hates TO and everything Nebraska.  Loves Creighton and Michigan State.

Won't repost here...but you can see one of his postings I copied from the LJS story about attendance over on the men's board: http://board.huskerhoopscentral.com/topic/5202-i-want-this-board-to-be-the-best-board-out-there/page-3 next to last post on page 3.

It makes for some uncomfortable get-togethers, especially since he is raising his kids the same way!

Oh man, it keeps getting worse!    Wish I could help--a hug, a case of beer, whatever.  ;)

I still have that ahead of me.  I like to think I could handle a lot of things, but being wrong  on TO and the Huskers (OK, and a certain political point of view) would be VERY difficult to handle.

Not sure, but he may have personal reasons as I suspect NU didn't bother to recruit him coming out of HS.  And he thinks that all Husker fans are rude and obnoxious.

The recruiting part I get (not from personal experience!), but I have found the opposite to be true concerning most of our fans.  Nicest folks anywhere.  Oh well, I 'm sure you handle it more maturely then I would.  all I expect out of my future son-in-law is that he loves the Huskers, Nebraska, likes to fish and hunt, votes the right way, has a job, makes his own way in life....  Other than that,

I'm really tolerant!  ;)

You wouldn't do well with my son-in-law.  Not at all!

Guy named Ricky from Omaha, trolls over on the comments of the LJS. He says that there is no way that there was 9,585 at the game. He says that we,UNL padded the stats and there was only about 2,000 there. He trolls hard on anything Husker.

It is funny to see others trying to reason with him. I just keep typing 9,585 any time he posts.

I can see where he is coming from guys, I had a friend text me wanting to know what I thought the attendance was on Saturday. I told him I thought over 9K and maybe close to 10K. He then said that from watching it on TV you couldn't tell how many people where actually there.

One other observation: Did anyone else think the A & M crowd was weak? They were pretty quiet, despite having an undefeated top ranked UConn team at 40-37 in the second half. they did do a nice job of giving their players a standing O after the game, but I thought they were pretty subdued throughout the contest. This was the Elite 8, and I don't get that.

Watched the game and also watched post game coach interviews. I watched UCONN post game and didn't see any comments about Nebraska. To be fair, I don't think anyone asked him.

Gary Blair, however, was very complimentary of Lincoln hosting, and Nebraska fans in particular. He offered this in his opening statement.

I find it impossible not to like Coach Blair. Have never seen anything other than class act from him.

Per the LJS article: http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/womens-basketball/uconn-pushes-on-to-another-final-four/article_afe2d5c3-ae50-5d15-8996-d783d05081fe.html

He also took the microphone at half-court after the game and thanked Lincoln and the University of Nebraska for an "incredible experience."

"All we heard before we came here was how amazing the facilities and the people were,” Auriemma said. “If I have anything to do with it, we'll be back."

His comments probably didn't appear on TV due to ESPN not thinking it really necessary to show on TV...maybe happened during a commercial break or something. I could actually see his comments leading to a visit to play Nebraska.

great to hear nighthawk.  a home and home with uconn, how nice would that be.  i am a bit curious, did we host any recruits over the weekend, letting 9500 screaming fans go to waste seems like quite a waste, unless it's a dead period.

Not sure on the dead period, But Jess Shepard visited with yori both Saturday and then after the game last night. Jess's Mother was with her last night.

Everyone around where I sat noticed what a difference there was in the bands. The UConn band was up dancing & singing the whole game. While the A&M band ususally just sat on their hands looking uninterested.
