Currently, Penn State has the Big Ten's longest win streak.  3 games.  And only Ohio State and Northwestern have two wins in a row.

Not sure why this is such a surprise.  Penn State had 2 very experienced guards coming back.  College basketball is typically a guard's world.  What was surprising to me was how Penn State either played poorly (including against us) or played OK but couldn't close out games.  What is happening now shouldn't be shocking.  Probably not as shocking as what Northwestern is doing.

An experienced point guard would probably make this NU team better with all the new faces this year. Can't help but think that there would be a couple more wins if Mike Gesell were running the point.

The team we have is the team we have.  What-iffing players we didn't get is just another perhaps more malignant version of what-iffing games we didn't win.  The coach we have needs to figure out how to win with the players we have and beat the likes of PSU and Northwestern OR he needs to land some recruits who can win more games.  But, we didn't get Gesell and we didn't beat PSU or Purdue even though we arguably should have.
