TheKamdyMan Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Interesting that he had Nebraska listed as one of his top choices earlier in the week and now we aren't listed. Just thought it was kinda strange how these sites get updated and based on what information? http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Elbert-Robinson-132565 the teams across the top change EVERY time you close out the profile and come back in. The only place the teams would stay the same for interest is below where they name the teams, fyi. Quote

If you aren't happy with a recruits choices, you can just keep hitting refresh until the Nebraska logo pops into the lineup! HuskerActuary 1 Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 so the 5 officials are TAMU, G-town, Ohio State, GT, and NU. Quote
ajb5856 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 And this... @HuskerExtraBR: Robinson is lone recruit expected to visit #Nebrasketball this weekend, officially or unofficially. Will be here Friday through Sunday. Quote
ajb5856 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 The atmosphere of that football game he's gonna see next week at A&M will not be equalled with our little tussle versus Sourhern Miss. Quote

True, but how interested is he in actually going to ATM? I think they are on the outside looking in to be honest. Wish we knew when each visit was taking place. Quote

I don't think A&M is a huge contender as Elbert did not list them in his "top 4 schools that are standing out to him". All I said was that we would not match the atmosphere of the A&M/Alabama game, which we won't. Obviously. He goes to A&M next week and I'm guessing we'll start to see the dates of his other visits as he schedules them. Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Wow he could get free sideline passes for ATM/Bama, OSU/Mich, and here for a "normal" Saturday which many would really like to do. I wish I was a highly sought after athlete. Quote

So BR is stating irregardless of the type of visit Robinsons the only one this weekend. Quote

Also the National Signing date is before that weekend anyways so he will have already made his decision. hhcmatt 1 Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 There Kamdy goes again using facts. Okay so he only gets to see one of the cool games. Quote

Might've been cool to get him and Bolden here together at the same time. Sort of the "look at what else we're fixin to add..." tact. Plus, could get them talking about coming here and starting something special. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Anyone know if Robinson thinks of himself as a one-and-done type player? Or does he want to go somewhere to develop for a few years and maybe hit the NBA after his junior year or something like that? If he's a kid who has NBA aspirations but wants to spend a few years in college developing, then I think we have a strong argument for why we're a better option. If he thinks he wants to be one-and-done then he'll want to go somewhere that he gets lots of exposure, so probably a bigger-name joint. Quote

We also have to argue that we can offer as much exposure as anyone else on his list. GTown plays in a watered down league. We play in the same league as Ohio St. and have 5 sweet 16 schools coming to our house this next year. Either way, Kenya's gotta give his pitch about the big men he's developed into NBA prospects. Norm Peterson Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 I agree, but you never know what a kid might convince himself of. Quote
ajb5856 Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 I feel good about things. I think we get Elbert on board. BR also said in his article that Kenya was the first coach to recruit Robinson. I think the Robinson family's loyalty lies in Hunter and not in Georgetown the school. I agree that selling Nebraska over Georgetown shouldn't be a problem if you examine things as they are right now. Nebraska has a lot going in terms of the program, facilities, exposure, B1G, etc. Georgetown HAS been places. Has been. They have history. Now they are in the watered down league. Ohio State should be our main competition. I could be wrong but I think Elbert is Thad Matta's plan C. They have Myles Turner, Goodluck Okonoboh, and then Elbert Robinson. Jahlil Okafor also has the Buckeyes in his final 8 although he is an extreme longshot to sign with OSU. I think Myles Turner ends up at Kansas. Goodluck has high interest in OSU and Matta has been recruiting him hard lately. hhcmatt 1 Quote

I'm right with ajb, it will come down to osu and us and in 70% sure he comes here because osu will probably slow play him with the others they are recruiting. I wish that bolden or Crawford were visiting on the same weekend tho. I like when a group comes in, but maybe this way they can spend every bit of attention on the single recruit. These next weeks are going to be great. Just hope bolden rumors are true. Quote
