Navin R. Johnson Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Bellevue West's Malik Hluchoweckyj (@Malik_ABC) tells me he's getting interest from Nebraska for football, basketball and track. #HuskersFrom Robin Washut on twitter Quote
AuroranHusker Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Wow, that's a trifecta of interest by NU & he has a name that is quite a mouthful... how would one pronounce his last name? Quote
uneblinstu Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 I'll guess it's something like Hloo-chow-wek Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Will end up a WR in college and maybe some track from everything I've read on the kid. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 I'll guess it's something like Hloo-chow-wek What do you do with the y & j at the end? Are they silent? Just curious, I'd have no clue how it's pronounced... Quote

Navin R. Johnson Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 I just call him Malik Alphabet! He just keeps getting better and better as a basketball player. It will be interesting to see what sport (or sports) he decides to play in college. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Wow, that's a trifecta of interest by NU & he has a name that is quite a mouthful... how would one pronounce his last name? That's a very good question. I'd probably just pronounce it "Hluchoweckyj." Quote
Norm Peterson Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 OK, but seriously, here's just a guess: Lew-chuh-VITZ-key. Quote

Navin R. Johnson Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 Who-wool-la-jecky is pretty close I think! When I saw him he was obviously a good athlete with a nice shot and good ball handling skills. Maybe not a Big 10 player now but has a ton of potential and is someone to keep an eye on if he improves his skill set. Just going to be a junior this year. Quote

The greeks would be pleased. Quote

49r Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Good for him. Bad for Bowling Green fans who have to try to spell his name in message board posts. This name is definitely a 10+ on the Bruesewitz scale. Quote
