I would imagine that Alex Foster would be released from his as well.

Alex Foster: 6'8", 200 lbs, Power Forward

Alvin Ellis: 6'5", 185 lbs, Small Forward

Both have Nebraska offers.

PF Alex Foster and SF Alvin Ellis recruiting profiles:

Seems like Alex Foster will wait to see who the new coach is first before making a decision but...

What if...what if Alex Foster asks for a release and both he and Alvin Ellis want to stay together as a pair and come here. Then what? Who would be first to go? Benny or Vooch? As Norm said this could get really weird.

Alex Foster is also a member of AAU team Meanstreets, which is the same AAU team as Nebraska's 2014 target Paul White.  Paul White is a 4-Star, 6'8", 215 lbs, Small Forward.  I would think it could also help Nebraska start to establish the connection to Chicago.

Alvin Ellis said he's interested in three schools other than Minnesota, but he wouldn't name them. He said he wouldn't rule out signing again with the Gophers.

"I'm just going to open my recruitment back up and see where that takes me," he said. "I wanted to get comfortable with the coach I knew I was going to be with for four years. I just think this is the best thing for me and my family at this time."

I wonder if we jumped the gun on leslee. It seems like there is a new transfer every day.

I don't think so.  I think the JUCO route is good, because it allow for the scholarship to open up in 2 years instead of 4.  Smith will be able to make an immediate impact on the floor, while the full potential of someone like Alex Foster won't begin to be realized until he has a season or two under his belt.  I think it is important for Nebraska to snag another JUCO or grad transfer in this class to help with immediate contribution, but I think it is also important to try to snag at least 1 high school post player that can develop and contribute in the long term as well.

Ellis seems like a very similar player to Nathan Hawkins. I doubt we go after him.

We only have 1 spot left though. There are no signs of Vooch or Parker leaving. I think it would have happened by now.

Although, I think the best case scenario for Nebraska would be to sign players like Sai Tummala, Josh Davis, and then another grad transfer that is a PF/C.  That would give Nebraska 3 open scholarships in the 2014 class.

I agree.  I would be surprised if Nebraska went after him too

There have been rumors about both of them.  And it wouldn't make sense for anyone to make it official before there were already players lined up to fill their 2 spots.  Just like most people don't quit their jobs until they have already been assured another job to take the place of the job they already have.  If Parker and/or Vucetic were shown the door and Nebraska wasn't able to bring in 2 players to fill their spots, then Miles could be looking at holding student tryouts again next season.  It wouldn't make sense for Nebraska to make anything official before Miles officially had players committed to take their place.
