Probably not a fair comparison.

 

There were 15 P5 teams in the NIT that year versus 4 this year (after all the opt-outs and alternative CBC tournament).

Stating directly that Miles got a better seed in an NIT tournament this season, with the condition that he has a losing season, then directly comparing that to 2018. Apples and oranges.
