Bubble Watch 3/1 THIS IS MARCH!

- According to T-Rank, we have some big time movers for games today. Here are his top 5 AFTER our game... because of course our game is the  biggest of the day for us. Miami over UNC, Fresno over Boise St, La Salle over GW, Creighton over Xavier, and Houston over Cincy.

- My personal Bubble Watch:

Early Games (Before 1 CST)

Maryland @ Penn State: Not really bubble implications, but a loss here ensures they cannot pass us for the B1G tournament. They are also still, barely, a Q1 game.

Miami @ UNC: UNC is squarely on the bubble and this would almost be a nail in the coffin. Miami is awful, so I wouldn't expect much here.

UCONN @ Providence: UCONN isn't anywhere near the bubble, but a Providence win could muck things up a bit for their seed.

Butler @ Nova: Nova is a long way away from bubble, but if they keep winning, they have a chance with the soft soft bubble.

Arkansas @ South Carolina: SC got their first conference win and a 2nd win here would be HUGE for us. Arkansas is very much on the bubble and a loss in this one would look awful.

Afternoon Games (Before 5 CST)

George Mason @ Duquesne: GM has that bloated G6 record and with a weak bubble I've seen so many bracketologists say that this should be the year of the mid-major. I'd rather they just lose and be safe.

Richmond @ Dayton: See above, just need Dayton to lose and be safe.

Air Force @ New Mexico: NM is probably pretty in, but like UCONN, a loss here would look awful and I wouldn't mind continuing to muck things up.

Oklahoma @ Ole Miss: Big time game for us as the bracketologists still want to put OU in. We just need them to keep losing and falling.

Utah St @ Colorado St: I'm going to go with us wanting Utah St to win this one. Colorado State, with a win here, could start to be talked about just a little bit.

Cincy @ Houston: Can't have Cincy picking up a big road win when they are semi-being talked about. So just lose and lose big please.

Creighton @ Xavier: A double big game for us as a Creighton win boosts our win over them AND a Xavier loss knocks them further away from the bubble. On the flip side, this would be a huge win for Xavier and move them closer to passing us.

SMU @ Stanford: SMU is still on the bubble and a nice road win would look good on their resume. Need Stanford here!

Notre Dame @ Wake Forest: While Wake is now a ways away from the bubble and this win won't do a ton, a loss here would all but be a nail in the coffin.

Evening Games (After 5 CST)

Missouri @ Vandy: Vandy doesn't need this one and probably only needs one more. A win here would lock Vandy though.

Indiana @ Washington: For bubble purposes, Indiana losing would about pop them. Washington losing would eliminate the chance they pass us in the standings.

Boise @ Fresno: Not expecting much from Fresno but Boise has placed themselves in the picture with their recent play. Go Fresno.

OK St @ Baylor: Everyone seems to think Baylor is pretty safe, but if they lose this one, I'd have to think they'd be right on the bubble cut line.

SDSU @ Wyoming: SDSU is probably safe but a loss mucks things up a bit. This would probably be more for seeding implications down the road.

Georgia @ Texas: Ultimate bubble game and the loser of this one will find themselves on the outside looking in still while the winner picks up a much needed win.

WVU @ BYU: WVU is a bit out of the field, but a true road win at BYU could change that. Need BYU to hold serve at home today.

Fullerton @ UC San Diego: UCSD is very much being talked about as one that will get in if they don't lose until conference tournament time. We need Fullerton to pull of a major shocker here.

LBSU @ UC Irvine: Irvine is still right there as well being discussed. Need another shocker here.

Gonzaga @ San Francisco: We can't give San Fran a good win here and Zaga is probably pretty safe. So we have to be cheering the Zags here. San Fran is another that is heavily being talked about as being "in" should they get this win and hold serve.

Early bubble games are meh… but Arky has only scored 3 points in 13 minutes of action so far.

Seems like Arkansas is one of about 7 SEC/Big Ten teams fighting for the last 4 or 5 spots in the field as of now. Would a loss to South Carolina knock them out?

I struggle with SEC and how it’ll be perceived. Say they have the bad SC loss today but follow it up with wins over @Vandy and Miss St. at 19-12, 8-10, they’d probably have a case.

Today would be damaging no doubt, but I don’t think eliminating.

The SEC is very very good this year. They had a historically notable nonconference this season. I'd expect them to get far more teams in than any other conference.

At least these guys played before so everyone could make fun of them on the bubble and not us.

This conversation with the wife hit me like a bus.

Me: Blabbering on about the bubble and how weak it is, but also Nebraska needing to win and everything in between.

Her: So what has to happen if Nebraska wins all three to play in March Madness.

Me: Oh nothing— if we win two, we’re likely in. 3 would be icing on the cake.

Her: So they control their own destiny. Why are you so worried about other teams.

Me:………………………….. touché.

WE control our own destiny. Go out Saturday and take it. It’s ours if we want it bad enough. Screw bubble talk!

*whispers* next bubble update will be tomorrow everyone!

This is why hun. This is why.

Sure.  We'll probably beat OSU and lose to Iowa.

If we beat Ohio state I will be amped up again for Iowa lol. But unless other bubble teams lose bad games, we need 1-2 in the tourney to feel ok.

Need to make the tourney first...

If we win 1 or 2 more??

Going to be in if we win 1 more in the regular season. But we can't win 1-2 Big Ten tournament games if we don't qualify for it first.

Thankfully, most of the bubble decided to play to our level today.

Want to add, I do believe we’re on the wrong side of bubble currently… as we should be. But we’re still right there.
