Not a very convincing performance by the Huskers in my opinion. They show flashes of being so deadly on offense and scrappy on defense, but then a switch can flip with multiple soft turnovers and giving up offensive rebounds and open threes.

Jaz and Hake played well, and Markowski was solid. They need a better game from Potts and the wing spot to get a win tomorrow.

what bothers me the most is the lackadaisical passing resulting in turnovers.  AS's pass intended for Hake (I think) was done as tho she didn't realize that there were defenders on the court.  Other passes were lazy like that and some were just crazy - trying to pass thru too many defenders.  And these resulted in an unacceptable number of fast break points against us.  Look at it this way - every one of those takeaways that scored for Purdue could have been scored for us is we had gotten shots off.  That game could have been put away much earlier were it not for bad passing.

Amy played everyone in the first. Very little chance of getting into a game rhythm. Think we will need to win tomorrow to ensure a NCAA invite. We lay a egg tomorrow and will be iffy for us. Still should happen.

Oh we're in.  An MSU victory would be the difference roughly be between a 6 and 9 seed.

Sure as hell don't want to be an 8 or 9 seed in the South Carolina regional.  Beating M.S. maybe would get us to a 7 but with the Rutgers loss that may be even a long shot.

I think this team is playing about as well defensively as can be expected given the team’s overall lack of athleticism and quickness.  But the offensive inconsistency is not acceptable since imo it’s largely due to dumb turnovers and ill-advised 3-point shots.  These should be correctable, or at least improvable.  If we don’t shoot well over 35% from 3 AND turn the ball over < ~12 times, we probably can’t beat a good team like MSU.

I had to work yesterday, so I wasn’t able to watch the game until late last night. After reading this board, I expected to see Darian White have a horrible game. Comments on here saying she should stop shooting, her game has gone to hell, she shouldn’t be in the game, etc. I was prepared for Something ugly, but instead I was pleasantly surprised to see a Darian White with damn near full speed and agility after her knee injury. Yes, she did miss a couple gimmes, and she continues to struggle a bit from the line, but there is nobody on this team who can handle the ball like her, and defensively she gets stops. She went 2-6 and people on here were acting like she was out of control or something lol I guarantee you will be thankful to have White agains MSU today, and against that Ohio State press if we have to play them. We have two all Big 10 players, and a plethora of very confident 3 pt shooters, so White isn’t expected to carry this team offensively. She is the fastest guard, best ball handler and a strong defender, and as far as I could tell she did those jobs very well yesterday. We looked the best with her and Hake in the backcourt.

Generally When I see All of the comments about lack of athleticism and quickness I read it as we don't have enough black players.  Would Prince, Williams and the twins from Millard West make us more athletic and quick.

I’m also of the opinion that tall girls (over 6 feet) that are also athletic (no matter what race they are) tend to lean more toward VB these days.  So what we are left with are tall girls that aren’t quite so athletic.  However, I feel there are plenty shorter players with a lot of athleticism, but coaches seem to want length over speed/burst/quickness.  I’m always suspicious of taller girls that focus on shooting the 3 (especially if I hear their parents brag about how they run the 800 in track).  Major red flag in my mind because it tells me they aren’t fast enough for shorter races, can’t jump high or long enough for the jumps, and don’t have enough leg or core power for throws.  JMO

I don’t know since I haven’t seen any of the mentioned players play except a bit of video on Prince.  But watch 10 minutes of any of our games against decent opposition and count the number of times we are completely beat one-on-one off the dribble.  That number will be well into double digits.

And yet we have still won 21 games.

Maybe you should become the coach of the Huskers. and get these fast and athletic players that we need so badly.
