While it's just an exhibition game...still anxious to see how Markowski and Weidner have matured.  Hope to see Markowski bloom this year.

Also can't wait to see Hake live and in person....And Maddie. And all the others there's no time to talk about.

Games starts in a few min.

Here we go boys !

We haven't seen Trinity Brady on the floor for a couple of years. It will be interesting to watch her again.

First score by Trinity Brady, just after a trey by Alexis! :Mfclap:

   GOOD NEWS!!!!!  🎇  🙏

Per Matt & Jeff, Breaking news on Sam Haiby. After surgery yesterday? her injury was not as serious at they had thought. Still require rehab, but reading between the lines we might be able to see her back on the floor later in the season.

anyone else a little surprised she just had surgery yesterday? i am pretty sure you have to wait for swelling to subside...i am sure someone else would have much better knowledge than i would. anyway.......could be very, very good news!!!

Attended today’s exhibition.  It’s not easy to get a read on the squad.  Washburn was overmatched by Markowski and Bourne inside but was very scrappy. Their point guard was able to penetrate quite often. Looks like Moriarity might be the first sub off the bench.  We won’t really know what we have until those road games at Creighton and Drake.  Mendelssohn was on the bench an she will be a valuable addition.  Hake is small and I don’t see a great impact from her.  Will we ever see Dillard?

With all the subbing it's a little hard to get a feel for what/who they'll turn into. But it was intentional. Coach wanted to look at them all. A bit chaotic.

A little rusty of course. The guard positions have many different players to sort out a pecking order so to speak.

Shot blocking was very good.

Down low may be our initial stength, in the beginning games at least.

Issie was spot on. No layoff hangover at all. She's going to have a great year.  Markowski was dominate on the boards as expected. Double-double out of the chute.

Mendelson, Mendelson, Mendelson.  From the videos I've seen she's a little like Issie.....can be mobile, but 6-5.

Kendall M is turning into what I hoped for, from early on. Been her advocate for a long time. She needs turn up her offensve game to the next level...she's getting there. Lot's of potential. Wasn't much opportunity last night to see everything Maddie and Hake can contribute.

We have to work on coming up with Sam's 12-15 pts/gm we're missing ...from the supporting cast. And her huge asset of driving to the boards.

Good start though.  Full speed ahead !

i was thinking the huskers might flirt with that century mark in this game, but, shooting was a bit off for some/most. i saw a couple of things that might be a little concerning but i want to see 1 or 2 more games.

yes, opponent was pretty scrappy on 'D' and they had a good share of open shots but just couldn't score.

I would be surprised if Sam is back by the end of December. Going from out for the year to maybe back later in the season (if all goes well) sounds like end of January or early February.

i tend to agree with your statement

I am, in the overworked expression, "cautiously optimistic" about Hake.  Smaller side, yes, but not tiny - not too small to contribute. She is fast, mobile, makes good cuts to get where (looks to me) she is supposed to be. I recall seeing her HS film in which she was offensively productive often getting open for 3s and draining them and a good defender.

From her bio:  "She claimed the MGBCA Three-Point Championship by draining 14 three-pointers in 45 seconds."

"She entered her junior season with high school career totals of 1,633 points, 442 rebounds, 147 steals and 120 assists. She added 599 points as a senior to finish with 2,232 career points"

As Whoopdeedoo mentioned, I too wonder why surgery didn't take place until late last week.

i had rotator cuff repair it 5 mos. to get in.  ortho centers are booked pretty heavily and there is a big time mess with insurance, billing and scheduling between both.  In truth she got in pretty quickly
