Congratulations and nice win by South Dakota. They played very hard and determined....on their home court no less. ....distinct advantage.

Made clutch shots in last couple of minutes to seal the deal.

Go Yotes. Up in the 4th. Wish I was watching it instead of a hideous baseball game

That hideous baseball game wasn't so hideous at the end. ;>)

True enough.  I was just getting cranky down 7-1 late after the 20th walk in 2 games.  The walks wear a fan down.  There was no life.  A fan actually called out the dugout for not caring.  But then baseball kicks in and the whole world changed.  It was like closing time in the old days where that hideous gal at 9 p.m. was looking pretty awesome at 1:00 a.m.

Amy Gusso Williams will be in demand

You ain't wrong there!

Here's a writer from Tuscon saying she could be on Arizona's shortlist along with Washington assistant coach and Arizona alum Adia Barnes. Not sure a coach would want to go there as it's turned out to be a bad move from many of those who came before.

3. Amy Williams, South Dakota. Some big-school AD will soon hire Williams, 40, who led the Coyotes to a win in Saturday’s Women’s NIT championship game. She was a standout player at Nebraska when Bill Byrne, Greg’s father, was the Cornhuskers’ AD. Her team finished this year 32-6, which included an 88-54 rout over Oregon in the semifinals. She’s also affordable. Her salary this year was $180,000.

I don't remember her as being a standout player while she was here as the writer says in the quote, but I remember her hustle, determination, vigor and temperament she played with when both she and JJ Jurgens got into the game!

Greg Byrne mentioned in the quote is ex-NU-AD Dollar Bill Byrne's son. He is the Arizona AD.

jmo, but, i'm not sure this job would be the one that could lure her out of vermillion. i think it's a "pass". a pretty decent incoming class. a new arena to open up. pretty nice salary for this part of the country. sdsu and usd wbb giving the Summit some pretty good recognition. some positive stuff goin' on there.

Amazing how some of these writers can be so wrong. Amy was a walkon who played very limited minutes her whole time here. But she must have been learning the game; she's having a great career.

There is usually actually an inverse relationship between how good of a player somebody was and coaching. Usually the less talented kids end up being the better coaches because they have to learn to work harder and learn every nuance to overcome physical defeciincies. -- i.e. Mark turgeon, Bill self, Roy Williams, Larry brown , tad Boyle, josh pastner, Travis ford, calapari, Jarod hasse, etc. not always the case but more often than not. Physical capabilities plays a bigger role at the highest level than most people factor in.
