  1. On a side not, Don Walton, who writes for the Journal-Star offered an opinion at the end of his Monday article that "fans leaving NU basketball games early should exit towards the top because it doesn't look good on tv when fans are streaming out on the sidelines before the game is over". Bravo Don!
  2. Yep...the hogs may be fed but there is still manure to scoop.
  3. Missed that for the most part but sure liked it when tv announcers mentioned that Michigan St. fans were heading for the aisles with 35 seconds left.
  4. Rolling with Blue Moon myself... Cheers....(clink)
  5. Huskers big win = Bud Light tall boys for a celebration.
  6. Doesn't the tourney selection committee take into consideration how a team does in their final 10 games? Finishing hot has to be a bonus.
  7. Send me crow...didn't think we had a shot.
  8. Tuned in late and didn't want to turn it on and jinx it.
  9. Can't think of a better present than a Husker win. Hope to catch end of it after reffing some youth basketball.
  10. Attack the basket.
  11. And, wasn't that a 4th foul on TP, to boot? Yes, my friend with me even commented, "They finally called a travel." Guess he was wrong.
  12. Last nights win is more impressive after having to overcome some rather sketchy calls. Still trying to figure out what that very same official saw when there were 3 huskers about 3 to 4 feet away from an Illini player and he called a foul on TP. Appeared there was a travel on that play also.
  13. Not sure how much shooting actually goes on in practice but I know of a few high schools that have a shooting machine that has a net to catch the missed shots and will pass the ball back to the shooter. The net is designed so that the shooter has to arch the ball or the net will block it. As stated earlier, arch is a good thing.
  14. I was thinking same thing...hijack the thread?
  15. 8-0, Dreaming of unbelievable run. 7-1, Ecstatic. 6-2, Damned happy x 2 5-3, Not out of the realm of possibility. 4-4, Minimum expectation. 3-5, This can't be happening. 2-6, Why do I fall for this? 1-7, Get me a beer truck. 0-8, Steady shots of Jaegermeister.
  16. Just as I was getting out of high school officiating is when the rules allowed a ref to back away and pass the ball to a player inbounding the ball. I would always make sure the player knew I was passing to him with some sort of verbal statement. I never had one lose complete control but there were some bobbles and if it was a bad enough bobble I would blow my whistle and restart the inbounds. Not sure if that answers the question, just the way I approached it.
  17. Guess I will be a bit of a naysayer here. I would give an overall grade of C+ to B-. That first half was putrid (D+ since Northwestern didn't put us away) and since it is an overall grade I take that into consideration. It was an ugly win but that's what you have to get against a team like Northwestern. Shields also could've had an easy defensive rebound late in game and just watched it hit the floor and Northwestern got it. There were also a handful of times where Nebraska had open players for easy baskets but went unnoticed by their teammate. And there were also at least 4 to 5 times that TP, Shields and Smith had excellent post up position with a smaller defender on them but the wing didn't get them the ball. One of those times was late in the game and TP had his man buried and Shavon looked at him but passed it back to top key. Huskers can't afford to miss easy opportunities if they want to get to next level. I know I'm being nit picky but the things I mentioned are easily fixed with effort and unselfishness. And on a final note I was concerned the missed free throws by Leslee and Shavon were gonna come back and bite us in the rear end.
  18. Isn't that the most annoying thing when the color analyst continues to say it wrong while the PxP guy said "Petteway" numerous times?!? Color analyst & former coach Darrin Horn never said TP's name right the entire game. And his commentary was typically off-base & not very informative, either. With so many games being broadcast now the PxP guys only need to know how to put on headset. Dan Dokic(sp) just called the officiating crew doin the Iowa/Michigan game "maybe the best officiating crew in the country". They are average at best but now that I think about it, an average crew would be the best.
  19. horse/cart I'm taking it 1 game at a time. This team has talent to compete with anyone at home but once they leave PBA a strange curse seems to follow. Savor the wins and hope for lots more to follow.
  20. Only 4 2nd half turnovers and it doesn't hurt to put the ball in the hoop at decent percentage either.
  21. Gonna pop a cool one to celebrate! And sorry for getting carried away with the overuse of exclamation points earlier.
  22. Shields made no effort to go for rebound!!!
