Maybe it's because I care about NU basketball too much, and have too much faith in Miles, but I don't think the positivity will fade for a few more years. I agree that this season will get long for some people. Fortunately we're in a league with enough big name teams to keep people going to the games late into the season. I do think they'll sell out the bank again next year if we get 14 or more wins.

I don't know if it was Biggs who got picked but it was Peltz who picked him. #1 - Biggs #3 - Parker Unless they switched jerseys, you can make out that Biggs gets turned over and Parker comes racing up the court afterwards. You win.

I can't take it anymore. The constant pissing and moaning. I can't believe the crap that's said about the players. Give me a break! Grown ass men obsessing over 18-22 year olds. Fans are prying into every part of the players life. The LJS making a front (web) page article about Kenny Bell's dog was just over the top. I understand it was supposed to be a positive moretolifethanfootball article, but jeeebens lay off! I wouldn't wish being the HC or starting quarterback at Nebraska on anyone.

They're secret, because as far as the schools are concerned they never happened. They aren't allowed to make any sort of comments, release stats, etc. Regarding my avatar, I have quite the story for you. First of all, my avatar comes from a sign I made and took to the February 2nd Ohio State game last season. Fast forward to August. my friends and I were guests at the Eaton-Abdouche wedding (Gregory Eaton is the Nebrasketball video coordinator), along with Tim Miles and a few other assistant coaches. Kiley (the bride) assigned us to the table right next to Miles' at the reception, knowing we'd be pretty psyched to sit that close to him. About half way through the reception Pat Norris (Nebraska equipment manager) goes over and shows Miles a picture of my sign on his phone. A couple of minutes later Miles walks up to our table, holds the phone up and says, "Alright, I wanna know who's responsible for this." I raise my hand. He then asks what prompted me to create something like that. So I give him the back story, explaining that it comes from his persona when he's either barking at a player or the officials. I tell him that in the heat of the moment he sort of resembles a little rat terrier, which he gets a pretty good kick out of. He then shakes my hand, and thanks us all for being supporters of the program. Then, just before walking away, he looks at me and says, "From the bottom of my heart, fuck you." Well all, including Miles, bust out in side splitting laughter as he meanders back to his table. From there we proceeded to get even more drunk, thanks to the open bar, and a good time was had by all. LOL that's awesome.

Why are they considered secret? Do they do this every year? BTW, you're a strong candidate for best avatar ever.

They're not the only ones. Don't fool yourself there. Does it surprise anyone else that there hasn't been much heat on the B1G (or Big XII) in that department? Other than O$U of course. There's so many ways to pay players under the table that I'd be shocked if there was a truly clean athletic department in the country. Not saying the athletic departments necessarily know about the dealings. It's hard not to look at schools like Ole Mi$$ and Kentucky and accept they just magically landed all of these football recruits (and UK basketball...). I'm extra skeptical of schools like Oregon and Okie light who have boosters with ungodly amounts of money. Certainly DONU would never cross that line..

Wasn't at the scrimmage, but I heard a lot of positive news about Hawkins. His game film from high school was impressive. I have a gut feeling he'll play an important role this year. I don't see him redshirting, but if he doesn't, I don't know who else would.

This whole thing bothers me. Why do we give the highest paid employees personal vehicles? No offense to Mary Pat, but why exactly does she get one? The cost of the 2013 Lexus is probably close to or more than a yearly salary for a professor. Oh well, good for them.

There's an interview somewhere on youtube where he talks about schools. Said something to the tune of "If a school shows me interest, I'm going to show interest back". When asked about contact from Minnesota he mentioned Ben Johnson and said that he was recruiting him before at Nebraska. I think he mentioned Nebraska another time. Said he's going to take the time to find a place that fits him. I hope he's as open to offers as he made it sound.
