  1. Nice win. Hope the PBA success holds up. Didn't see all of the game but thought the team showed some improvement. Minnesota is a nice ball club.
  2. I may be a glass half empty individual but I don't see much success in the upcoming schedule. Iowa is good and both Michigan teams are good. NU is not playing well and no one is making big plays, hitting free throws or making a clutch shot. Lindsey Moore on the floor might have resulted in a victory. One positive, the play of Allie Havers. She might as well play some minutes because the team is struggling. The new wave of recruits can't get here soon enough. If they are as good as advertised, they will all play a considerable amount of time.
  3. Northwestern won at Indiana. We have to get a road win to match that accomplishment. Where is that going to be?
  4. Minnesota is a solid team.
  5. It was the worst two teams in the league.
  6. We were not successful penetrating all night. I don't fault Pitchford's 3 attempt, at least it was a shot with a chance. Think of all the empty possessions we had during the game including the last one. I'd of been thrilled to at least get a perimeter jump shot late with a chance than an unforced turnover that was a knucklehead decision of epic proportions.
  7. I'm not sold on Biggs playing. Too many bad plays overcome the good plays he can make. Parker must take open shots or their is no reason for him to be in the game. Team seems to be rudderless with no on court leadership.
  8. One word...pathetic.
  9. How many bad plays are we going to allow Biggs to make? You don't dribble through a half court press and we had failed to penetrate most of the night. I'm much rather had Webster in the game at the end and find an open perimeter jump shot. Not a very well prepared team tonight.
  10. Let's see how we handle success. Winning at PSU will be a challenge for this team. I'm hopeful.
  11. I guess that's the point I was trying to make. Believe me, I'm elated with the win and was thrilled to see Webster be a little assertive on offense. Thought Rivers played well but Biggs is still driving me crazy!
  12. Nice win tonight but do we really need to storm the court by beating OSU?
  13. Jordan Hooper has been great for NU. I just wish she had developed some moves to deal with the kind of defense Purdue used today. The Boilers were not going to let Hooper beat them. The team really made numerous silly mistakes at crucial times that cost them the game. Very interesting that Penn St. beat MSU in East Lansing today. Havers needs to play more and contribute.
  14. Way too many mistakes that were unforced in the 2nd half. Too many missed free throws in the first half also came back to haunt the team. Lady Huskers have a lot of heart and fight but their liabilities showed up at crucial times. B1G is going to be tough every game. Any win will be a good one.
  15. Shots fell at the right time. Horrible shooting most of the night and still wind up with nearly 90 points. Defense was suspect. Banham is a great player and we are fortunate to get the "W". Nice comeback led by Theriot and Cady.
  16. Basketball is big in Utah. The Utes, Aggies, Webber State and BYU have all been good teams over the years. Utah St. has been almost an annual visitor to the NCAA tourney under Stew Morrill.
  17. It must be the old conservative coach in me but our shot selection is just awful.
  18. I would like to see Tai do this every game. He is a key to this team improving.
  19. NU takes a lot of what I would call questionable shots, when they fall we seem to be pretty good.
  20. Nice win but a lot of unforced turnovers. The lob passes seem to miss more than the connect. Michigan State is clearly superior to Illinois. We will be in a battle to finish in the top 4 of the league. Haven't seen much of Penn St. but with Maggie Lucas they are going to be good.
  21. Illinois, if I remember correctly, hurt us with pressure defense last year. I see that as a major problem tomorrow in Champaign. Hope the shots fall or it will be a loss.
  22. I'd be a little caution about the Hammonds kid. He hasn't played against the best competition.
  23. The Biggs-Webster questions is interesting. Biggs can make plays offensively but appears, at time. to be a head case when the game doesn't go his way. I would like to see Webster be a little more aggressive offensively. I believe he took it to the basket the first or 2nd possession of the 2nd half and then hardly looked to score. Maybe, play them both at the same time moving Pettaway to the 4. I'm not the coach, I don't see them practice. Just hope they keep competing and make a good showing at Purdue.
  24. Don't forget Cady. She excels in so many areas. Her effort is consistent and relentless. I'm just disappointed Connie took 2 years off in recruiting. Not fair to Hooper and Cady to not have more talent around them. It looks like they're not making the same mistake and are lining up a lot of talent to play with Shepard, but time will tell. I agree completely that it is sad to have Hooper and Cady and not enough to go with them. This team gives effort but has too many flaws and Hooper, good as she is, does not have a true post up game.
  25. 00 is sorely missed. It also shows how great she was as a player. MSU was far superior in every phase of the game. Looks to be a long season in conference for the ladies. Hopefully, the incoming freshmen are as good as advertised. This team clearly needs more depth.
