1. A foul is a foul in the first minute of the game and the last minute of a game. Just ask Mean Gene Keady! Announcers say let the players decide the game. I agree, but I don't want the officials swallowing their whistle when a violation occurs, even in the last few ticks of the clock. I don't like the arc under the basket. If a defender has position it's a charge, pure and simple. I don't like a bigger, stronger player displacing another player from position. That should be a foul.
2. The season is about what I expected it to be. Actually, we've played some decent BB. There just isn't much ability out on the floor. Look at Illinois, then look at NU...is there even a comparison? Miles is probably getting worn down himself as the season progresses. Can't get much more from what he is to work with.
3. OK, we need to work Grant Simmons, Willie Campbell and Nate Branch in to the mix.

Why does the Hawkins kid not get some more love? He might be a nice addition next year.
4. Nice win tonight. Our hot shooting covered up some continuing flaws. Next stretch of games could be crucial. Next 4 are winnable if the team plays and shoots like they did tonight. Shot selection was much better. It would be nice if Williams could score a few buckets a game. Depth is really lacking currently. Conference seems to be much better this year than last. Could be as deep as this year's Big XII, which after Baylor, doesn't really have any strong teams.
5. Anyone agree that Kaitlyn Burke might be missed? She seemed to make a key basket here and there and was a tremendous leader and by all accounts a high character individual.
6. Sorry to say this but PSU is way better athletically than NU. These types of games are going to happen when we play teams like PSU, Maryland etc., in other words, the elite teams. Shot selection continues to be a mystery to me. The girls play hard because they must in order to be competitive. A .500 record might be a good accomplishment in the league this year. NU needs more size in the post, Cady and Hooper can not be expected to handle bigger, more athletic post players and other than Laudermill the quickness factor in the backcourt was overwhelming for PSU.
7. Lindsey Moore has been a joy to watch these past 4 years. I love her passion and the way she is so smart on the court. The Huskers have been blessed to have her on the team.
8. A win at Indiana is a must because I don't think we can beat Penn St. at their place. I recorded the game and missed the ending because time expired....Wondered why Jeffery wasn't in the game late to force some turnovers...shooting was atrocious and shot selection by Hooper is sometimes questionable.
9. Gallegos, Shields and Pitchford. The last is based on optimism only and I don't have a real clue about the newcomers other than seeing Petteway play at Tech. There should be more overall ability on next year's team.
10. Nice road win over an undefeated team. Maybe the S. Dakota St. loss isn't so bad since the Jackrabbits played Penn St. tough in State College. A third, consistent scoring option must be found and the depth seems to shaky at all positions. Could be a tough time in the conference. Time will tell.
11. Having a full house for a game has got to be good for basketball in the state of Nebraska.
12. Creighton is going to attract some players. Why? They play before big crowds in a great arena and they have tradition. McDermott won at UNI and I think he will continue to win at Creighton. I like where Miles has NU headed and I love his personality on the bench. The rest of the season is going to put a strain on his optimism. Fans just need to be patient. I think we have someone who can get the job done.
13. I saw what Connie saw. Maryland was clearly superior physically to NU. Hooper was helpless the first part of the game. NU is a gritty team but we are still a large cut below the best teams, even the year we had Griffin it showed when we played Kentucky. I would think that girls from all over would want to play the style that NU plays. I'm not going to knock Connie as I think she is doing a fine job and I like the fact she is using Nebraska girls wherever possible.
14. Maryland and Rutgers are going to improve the B1G in Women's BB.
15. I think Peltz does a lot for the team that won't show up in the stats. He's not a scoring threat but he's the type of player that will set the screens, get loose balls and even rebound. Great win tempered by the fact that I'm not sure Wake is really very good.
16. Wow! Maryland was too big, too fast and too strong for Nebraska. We were out-athleted big time tonight. Scary thing is that UConn will probably toast them on Monday. Saw some potential in Theriot and early on Sample was a threat. Huskers are going to be OK in the B1G except when they play Penn St. We just aren't athletic or big enough yet to step up with the truly elite teams. NU is still a fun team to watch and I'm not as distressed by this loss as the one at SDSU.
17. I continue to be impressed with the job Tad Boyle is doing at Colorado. Beating Murray St. was impressive.
18. Fear the Turtle...the Terps will bring more Basketball cachet to the B1G. Rutgers could be a sleeping giant. When NU, Michigan and Ohio State visit College Park and East Brunswick their will be interest in Football on those weekends. Can't blame Maryland for wanting to get away from a conference dominated by the Carolina schools...seems like all ACC tournaments were in Greensboro.
19. Baylor lost because Odyssey Sims played 5 minutes. With her, the Bears beat Stanford by 10. She is a great player.
20. A disappointing result is the best I have to offer. NU cannot play like this and expect to compete in the B1G. Did Maurer even play today? We were getting beat badly on the boards. Also, did Laudermill play? Hope this was a blip but it doesn't bode well for tougher teams coming up. This in no way is to take anything away from SDSU.
21. 1988 tournament, lot's of KU fans when they played Xavier.
22. 1988 NCAA Tournament, 1st and 2nd round...."Send it in Jerome" (apologies Bill Raftery) Lane of Pittsburgh. Utah State Dance team was spectacular!
23. I can't be critical of scheduling soft with the team NU is going to put on the floor this year.
24. Thanks for the update. The new kids will have to play with Woodberry's exit.
25. Did Maurer and Sample play?
